what are the current trends in clothes shops?
Q. I have a job interview in a clothes shop and was wondering what current fashion trends are.

A. I don't follow women's fashion but I can provide the guys' trends for fall 2012 through summer 2013, or at least how they're predicted to be. This is according to major runway shows in Europe, so trends in American stores or unique shops will vary.

Some general trends: Slim pants/jeans (sometimes skinny), rolled up once or twice, JACKETS, hairstyles that are short on the sides/back and styled on top, accessories like watches and bracelets always make you look more stylish

Fall 2012 has some very light blues and oranges leftover from summer 2012 but they're only thrown in. Mainly, it's getting darker with blacks and grays, occasionally an obscure white or yellow dominated outfit. "A play on fabric" as Armani calls it is trendy, mixing different patterns and fabrics that you wouldn't normally match, as long as they go together in color. Outfits should stay simple and sleek though.

Winter 2012-13 is best described as "dark" and sometimes "tribal" with almost all black, brown and gray on jackets, pants and shoes/belts. Fabric play still revealant: For example, charcoal sweater with leather jacket throw-over.

Spring/summer 2013 should be sleek and include Mediterranean colors not only in just clothes but especially accessories. Like turquoise belts/shoes, bags and shirt accents. "Easter" colors is a good way to put it also. The base colors are blue and green.

What are the most popular teen stores right now?

Q. I'm 14 and I need a new wardrobe! I have no style :( What stores are really popular? What types of clothing are "in"? I have about $300 of birthday money to spend. Thanks everybody!!!!!

A. Definitely forever21 for cheap clothes and on trend stuff.
Wetseal is pretty cheap and similar to forever21, and so is Love Culture.
Try nordstrom (rack) for great quality pieces. If you go to a regular nordstrom, though, the stuff is so expensive :o
Free People and Brandy Melville are super popular right now (and they have a lot of "in" stuff), but both are a bit pricier than your typical mall store.
If you are willing to wear second hand clothes, try Plato's Closet - its like a thrift store but a bit more expensive because it only carries brand name clothes that are in trend right now. Its still way cheaper than the original prices even though its more expensive that somewhere like Goodwill or a consignment shop.
Tilly's, Francesca's, Kohl's, Macy's, Charlotte Russe, Aeropostale, delias, Old Navy or Gap, Garage (), and Zara are some other places to try.Target has everything - makeup, accessories, school supplies, and clothes so I would recommend at least checking that out. And the prices are really good too!

Clothing trends are:
Jumpers/pullovers are supposedly going to be in for winter, paired with jeans or leggings.
Cardigans are always great :D
Oxblood/burgundy/maroon is the color of this fall/winter so pick up some stuff in that color for this school year. I have a pair of jeans in this color that I love. So soft, and the shade is perfect! http://www.joefresh.com/en/product/corduroy-jean-5
Tribal prints were in for summer and spring, but I think as we transition into fall not many people are going to be wearing tribal prints any more. Same with colored jeans and neon pants.
Flannel and plaid shirts are definitely in. Just button downs in general.
Flowy tops are trendy right now, something like this: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?productId=2371_9891_131 I would pair this with a scarf and skinny jeans and any type of shoe as an outfit :D
Peter pan collared tops were in this summer, not sure if they will stay for the whole school year.
Patterned, like floral or polka dotted jeans, are trendy right now. You can get really cute ones at AE.
BLAZERS! Especially for the chilly days in fall, I would get a fitted blazer for school.
Definitely combat boots and riding boots. Furry slippers (like ugg slippers) were in last winter, not sure about 2012. These are the combat boots I really want, but none of the colors are in my size >.< http://www.urbanog.com/Lug-11-Military-Lace-Up-Mid-Calf-Boot_174_15411.html

What shoes are popular for 2012/now?
Q. I really want to get new shoes I have

I have
sperrys
converse
vans
short boots
tall boots

I was thinking toms maybe? minnetonkas? uggs?

A. I like how you're very into fashion and want to have trending shoes coming into the New Year- Brianna!!

Toms look quite nice and casual (depending on what colour of shoes you buy), but I think they are more for Spring/Summer. I don't think they will be very good at insulating your feet from the cold. (The material that Toms are made out of seem similar to canvas pumps that I wore recently out, which resulted in extremely cold feet.) I don't think you should buy Toms!

I don't like really like the look of Minnetonkas. However, I would buy the shorter Minnetonkas than the taller ones, as you see less of the may vertical string things which I don't like.

They seem to go well with skinning jeans, dark pairs of leggings and tights with jeans shorts, which are fashionable these days.

Out of all three I would by Uggs. They are very trendy (when I'm out and about I always see so many people wear them) and they are very cosy and good for keeping your feet warm.

However if you are type of person that likes to stand out from the crowd and dress up differently to others, when it comes to fashion, Minnetonkas may be the way forward, instead of Uggs. I don't see many people wearing them, so you would certainly stand out!

I Googled Minnetonkas and found a picture of Kate Moss wearing them, so for a model to be wearing them, it mustn't be that ugly!

Maybe you should also buy a pair of black flat shoes or black shoes with a small heels, for formal outfits.

Summer Outfit ideas 2012?
Q. My style is casual-chic I guess. Bright colors and floral patterns! Don't really do dresses/skirts. Any suggestions for shoes, tops, shorts, accessories (especially bracelets/necklaces)? Some stores I like are Delias, AE, Forever 21, Hollister, etc. Thanks!

A. Lots of pastels this summer so I'd get some white, light rinse, and tan shorts and pair them with mint green, creamy light orange, and a milky turquoise color for tops.

Wear a wide white bangle bracelet or a bunch of thin gold metal bangles on one arm. Stripes and dots are trendy for tops but creamy pastel floral tops would look awesome, too!! : }

What will be trendy for late summer/ fall 2012 for teens?

Q. Clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup etc. Thanks!

A. jewel tones, tweed jackets, head-to-toe white, velvet dresses

How do you feel about colored denim?
Q. I'm starting to love it, complete denim but colored purple, red, or pink. What about y'all?
I am under 18, I'm only 14...

And nah, I'm not emo.

A. Personally I love colored denim – especially the pastel tones, which are very trendy this summer 2012. I like to pair my light coral jeans with white shirts, white tees with prints and jackets. Colored jeans are very versatile, because they are great for creating casual and dressy looks. If you wear colored jeans with light blouse and high heeled shoes, you’ve gotten a going-out-outfit. If you wear your colored jeans with keds and t-shirt, you have a casual, comfortable to wear look. My only hope that colored jeans will stay in style for quite some time!
