When should males start buying from mens?

Q. I am 5 feet tall. my shoe size is 6.5, but i always wear a half size bigger so that i can make them last longer while i get newer shoes so i can have alot of them. And one more thing, whats the difference between Kids, Juniors, and Men. not really kids, andmen, but how is juniors different from men and kids and what is it? Also i'm turning 13 next month

A. My personal feeling is that you should star buying men's clothes when you start high school. This includes both men's departments, and also stores meant for both teens and young adults, like American Eagle and the like.

Also, in a department store, the differences are something like
Kids = for little kids
Juniors = trendy crap
Men's/Ladies = a variety of clothes meant for adults, or teenagers who prefer classics over weird fads and trends, but you have to find what's right for you because these sections have things meant for 15-year-olds all the way to things meant for 100-year-olds.

What does it mean by tendy night club attire when going to vegas?
Q. I am going to be in vegas in 2 months and wondering what to wear and examples for men and women. Need help with this and lots of ideas especially for men! Thanks

A. Trendy means whatever is most popular at that time. Backwards baseball caps and baggy pants were once trendy for young men but now a lot of clubs frown on that look. Fancy clubs usually have a dress code posted at their entrance and on their web site. When RA was in Luxor, I read their card, it said something about men having to wear a collared shirt, no tennis shoes (sneakers) allowed, no t-shirts, no jeans. Look up the clubs on Google and look for their dress codes.

For example, here's Pure's dress code:

http://www.caesarspalace.com/casinos/caesars-palace/casino-misc/pure-nightclub-detail.html

Dress Code:
Casual Chic: Fashionable attire is required. No sports jerseys, tank tops on men, tennis shoes or athletic wear of any kind will be permitted. The dress code is at management's discretion.

Need necktie color/style suggestions for a fashionable young man?

Q. The fashionable young man is me by the way. :)

I'm 21, and my brother is getting confirmed catholic this weekend and I'm his mentor.

What I plan to wear: so far:

Black two-button Calvin Klein tailored slim suit
White Calvin Klein dress shirt with cufflinks
black shoes, black belt, blah blah

anyways, I like to look good, and I like to be fashionable and look trendy. I want a new tie to give my appearance that young fashionably fresh zing, does anyone have suggestions?

I was thinking a brighter color because its spring time, and maybe one of those thinner ties I keep seeing in magazines? They seem to be in style right now... Or anyone have suggestions for a different dress shirt? other than white, something that will work with my new black suit, i really like it and I havnt had a chance to wear this one yet.

ladies I would love your opinions as well, maybe i'll even find a cute girl there to impress. :)

thanks everyone, 10 pts to the most helpful and best idea

What was fashion like in the 60s70sand80s?
Q. I didnt live then..but if someone asked me what fashion was today i would say uggs and crocs. so tell me what fashion was like then?

A. Those are three very different decades, and what was considered fashionable would very much depend on who you were (I don't see many "fashionable women" today wearing uggs and crocs either; those seem to be limited to relatively young people in certain parts of the U.S.).

The 60s was the era of the miniskirt; it was also the time in which jeans (mostly Levis) became a uniform for young people, rather than just practical work clothing. Odd color combinations came into fashion, challenging norms about which colors went together - red and orange, for example, or blue and green, especially in the first part of the decade. Toward the end, earth tones took hold. Bellbottom pants were trendy as well - I have pictures of myself wearing a lovely striped pair of them! Pantsuits for women began to take hold. Men went away from traditional suits and tried things like Nehru jackets.

The 70s was the decade of the disco. Men wore leisure suits, or suits in previously unacceptable colors, like pastels. Women wore platform shoes for the first time, the bigger and clunkier th better (none of this platform heels stuff like today - these were solid platforms, and there were lots of reports of people falling off of four, five-inch platforms. Things were sparkly and glittery - both clothing and makeup - and maxi skirts (long skirts) put in an appearance. I remember owning several long dresses which I wore to school and work in those days.

I think of the 80s as the era of big hair, and have very little recollection of what anyone wore WITH their hair! It was the age of the yuppie, so I guess business suits were a big part of this for many people (and the idea of dressing for success really took hold), and it was also a much more conservative era in many ways (think Ronald Reagan), so there was a movement toward more designer apparel, with visible labels. "Reagan Red" was popular for clothing, following Nancy Reagan's preference for the color.

Where to find casual trendy clothes for extra tall young men?

Q. My boyfriend is 6 ft. 4in. And weighs about 220lbs and he hates his height. One of the reasons why is because he cannot find any clothes that fit him properly. Right now he wears plain t shirts and baggy jeans held up by a belt. He would like to have variety. He's 21 and doesn't want to dress up in clothes that make him look like a teacher or any older like how most Big & Tall stores do. He is also incredibly sensitive about the style of pants he wears because (this is in all seriousness-not trying to be funny or inappropriate) he has a very LARGE p.e.n.i.s. And it shows if his pants are too tight (that's why he wears them baggy). I just would like to help him find a few stores that would carry clothing that would fit him and look trendy like how any 21 year old male would like to dress. Online store suggestions would also be a good help! (He would also like a choice of places to look for shoes, he wears a size 18)

Please help.

A. Ballroom jeans.....maybe that would give him some extra room. I think he would be better off finding clothing he likes that are slightly bigger and have them altered to fit. Some people have such different bodies that they break the mold most of the rest of us fit in to. Plus getting your clothing fitted and altered can be fun and you feel special.

What's in style to wear going out for drinks/dancing?

Q. I'm 37 and not up to the fashion as some of the young people. I don't get out much because I work at an office and wear career clothes or I'm running around in shorts running errands for the family.

Once in awhile me and the hubby want to go out for drinks etc. and I want to buy some jeans; look trendy. I need help from the young "fashionistas"...

Jeans straight or bell, high waisted or low waisted? Tops baby doll or tank, layered tops? Shoes cork screw heels or strappy slip on sandals HELP

A. I would personally go with some cute dark colored boot cut jeans (slight flare, not too big), if you can pull it off, go with a low waist. I'd do a cami style tank top in a plain color and then play up the accessories with fun dangly earrings and maybe some bracelets or a fun necklace. I'd wear some wedge sandals or some other type of heel. You'll look young, chic, and trendy. good luck and have a great night out with your man!
