Is it possible to find ballet flats that someone with high arches can wear?

Q. I love heels, but sometimes I'd like to look fashionable in a pair of trendy cute ballet flats. The problem is they kill my feet. Its odd to say but I'd rather wear heels all day than suffer with those flats on. They have zero arch support and I have really high arches that ache like crazy after an hour or so. Are there any companies out there making a flat shoe with proper arch support? Thanks for your answer and damn these high arches!

A. It is possible! If you want, you can buy from any local drug store like Walgreens Dr. Scholls feet coushins and arch supports. Some of my friends have the same problem as you and they just put the coushins in. Or, you can buy flats that have just a tiny heel. It would help your arch. I would recommend the cousins because then you can just choose any kind of flat you like and just put the coushin in the middle of your shoe. Good luck!

What is the best running shoe for me?
Q. I am a new at running and I have been training for a 5K in May. My dad recommended that I get real running shoes soon. I have done the research, but I can't find anything that helps. I know I have to decide what feels best for me, but I want to have an idea of what to look for when I get to the store. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

A. There is no real correct answer to that question as it ultimately is what feels right to you. I would highly recommend getting a quality pair of training shoes designed for distance running. Most runners in our program seem to prefer Asics or New Balance but there are several other quality companies to chose from. My best advice is to not cut corners, buy the best shoes you can afford. Stay away from cheap shoes or trendy ones. Your running success depends on your feet and they depend on the shoes. Many stores that specialize in sporting goods have runners working in the shoe departments that can help you and some really good places will actually test you for pronation problems.

Good sandals to wear Spring 2011?

Q. Okay, well, to start, I'm a teen girl (high school). Also, I'm VERY self-concious about the way my feet (mostly toes) look. They're not exactly pretty... at all! haha.... So, what are some good sandals to wear in Spring/Summer 2011 that either don't show the toes or would make me feel better about my feet... thanks! :)

A. I'm self conscious about my feet too! Want to know what's really trendy for the Spring/Summer 2011 shoe season? The Sperrys Top Siders! They are so so comfortable- I have two pairs! They look good with dresses, shorts, you name it and the great thing is that there are so many various styles that they can literally look amazing with anything. If you're really self conscious about your feet like I am, these are great because their an actual shoe, and they are literally like walking on clouds. The "break in" process took literally a day!
Here's the link:

If you're interested in the ones I got, here are the links for those too- I'm really into fashion and stuff and got tons of compliments from the two pairs that I bought :)

2011 back to school fashion?
Q. i was wondering what are the musts for back to school, im going in to 8th grade?? like what is the big thing this year?? and when i go back to school shopping what should i get?? okk thanks!

A. I'm going to 8th too! *High Fives* :)

Must haves:

Jeans- (2-3), in a style you like. Skinny jeans are trendy, but bootcuts are making a comeback.

Shorts- (2-3), for summer. Mix up the types of fabric, like don't stick with denim. Bright colors are really in, so I suggest getting maybe 2 pairs in a cool color like yellow/red. You can wear these with a plain, tucked in top with a skinny belt. Super cute!

Skirts- (2), go for ruffles and florals, kinda like what I said about the shorts.

Cardigans- (2-3), go for a plain white/black/grey one that you can wear with anything, then 1-2 in a fun bright color! Cardigans can dress up and down outfits, and are a nice touch to just about any outfit.

Tops- (Go crazy). You can never have enough! Don't forget the basic camis. Lace, ruffles, crop tops, and florals are really in right now. Also, to go with the trendy bohemian look, try flowy tops with a cool cut. Off the shoulder tops are also cute, especially when they're cropped.

Trends this year:

Color blocking: This is when you use a bright color to spruce up an outfit, for example wearing a bright red shoe with a plain black outfit. Fun colors are awesome, don't be afraid of them though!

Bohemian: Braids, florals, drapery, you know it.

Tribal: Tribal prints are really big, as well as feathers- as earrings, in your hair, etc.

Check out stores like Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. They have super trendy clothing, for pretty good prices.

Hope this helped!

Back to School Fashion help? trendy, fashionistas, please help!?

Q. what pieces in fall 2011 are really in?
im going to high school and i like to wear very american apparel/forever 21 things
no high heels more than 2 inches, please.
im a size six.

im getting 5 pairs of jeans, what colors/style should they be in?
im getting 6-10 non-basic shirts, what colors/designs/style should they be in?
im looking for versatile pieces that are comfy and stylish.

also...what kind of shoes/hairstyle should i get?
are feather hair pieces still in? highlights? i have long hair.

sorry, i have so many questions, but thanks, in advance!

A. Jeans: You can't go wrong with skinny or straight leg :) I think more of medium and dark washes are in, you could also get black jeans to look sophisticated but kinda casual :) A lot of people have "Miss Me" jeans which have very bold seams and are usually embellished and some are distressed. Just google miss me jeans.

Forever 21 has these cute high waisted shorts which are very in right now. You might want to pick up a pair or two of those. Not the denim ones, they have high waisted shorts with cute patterns (animal print or other cool designs). You can wear them with basic tshirts. And since they're not denim they'll be comfier than denim shorts :P
By the way speaking of patterns, very BOLD patterns are in style, like ethnic prints which look kind of tribal and some look kind of like native american. Just go on the f21 website and you'll see all the patterns there.

For the shirts, crop tops are very in. Forever 21 has those too, I think most stores carry them now since they're so in style. You can either get the crop top shirts, or they have crop top tank tops.
As are rompers, you can get most at forever 21.

Yes, feather hair pieces are still in, don't overdo highlights. I see more of solid colors and subtle highlights nowadays. For shores, Sperry Topsiders are pretty in but if that's not your style, gladiator sandals or vans/converse you can't really go wrong.

OH for a shirt, I don't know what it's exactly called but they look like this:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hPR32HwwgBQ/TifjcNy9TYI/AAAAAAAAALw/2fLQfI4PR1o/s1600/IMG_3157.JPG

^ That girl did a crappy job cutting it but at real clothing stores it will look much better. The shirt has like those little cloth strips down the bottom.
Hope I helped!

Where to get casual bridesmaids dresses?

Q. I live in the north ga/tn area. I would prefer stores I could actually visit. We are having an outdoor August wedding. The groomsmen are going in slacks and white button-ups. Our colors are pink, black and white. (Black and white are more of the accent colors) I want something casual, but not too casual. This is still a wedding, after all. Any suggestions? I'd like to keep it under or around $50. They are paying for their own dresses and I see no reason to make them spend an arm and a leg.

A. As it's a casual day wedding, look around at different stores for a nice sundress.

Something like this at Macys
http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=462032&CategoryID=26860

for a little more trendy wedding
http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=455283&CategoryID=26860
http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=453397&CategoryID=26860

A maxi dress would be great and it would be something they could wear again. That might be too casual but a nice chiffon one or one with ombre dye. I know the simple cotton ones are too casual.

There are a lot of dresses on sale in the store though that aren't on the website that look similar to this
http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=452996&CategoryID=22120

Do you have a Maurice's near you? I've bought several of their dresses. Look at New York and Company as well (though their website is horrible).

For online sites, I've ordered from several. I don't have many stores so I have ordered from Body Central, Chadwicks, Newport News, and Venus. I've loved all their dresses though Body Central...isn't for larger women. I am self conscious about my midsection as I could stand to lose 10-15 lbs but I'm usually a size 8 and not a large woman but I wear a large in Body Central and couldn't begin to wear a medium. Most of their dresses don't come in XL.

I would look at Kohl's too. They have a lot of nice summer dresses. How old are your bridesmaids?
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/womens/dresses/work/PRD~597043/Simply+Vera+Vera+Wang+Chiffon+Shift+Dress.jsp
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/womens/dresses/work/PRD~572689/Chaps+Empire+Dress.jsp

Also don't overlook a big bridal store like David's Bridal. I don't know how many bridesmaids you have but they have many discontinued styles that you can get on sale.
http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=3001552&currentIdx=46&subCategory=-49998492%257c3001454%257c3001552&catentryId=6092295&sort=

http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=3001552&currentIdx=52&subCategory=-49998492%257c3001454%257c3001552&catentryId=6087315&sort=

Don't overlook how you can accent a dress. You might find a great dress that doesn't quite have enough pink. You can go get hot pink shrug or sashes to go over it. Black and white prints are big.
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_031J5974000P?vName=Clothing&cName=Women%27s&sName=Dresses
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_031DM230000P?vName=Clothing&cName=Women%27s&sName=Dresses

You could easily include a bright pink in with accessories--bangles, chunky necklace, bright shoes.

Stores like Sears, JC Penny's, H&M if you have one, Jones New York, JCrew all carry dress that would be perfect. Any chain that is located where your bridesmaids are would be great. I'd overlook anything that would be too difficult for them. Many stores are in Atlanta but no where else in the South. Also overlook discount centers and places like TJ Maxx as their inventory isn't consistent. If you are all close by, you could do a weekend trip to an outlet mall. I know there is a Tanger Outlet in Sevierville, TN; Commerce, GA; and Locust Grove, GA. This site can help you find more

How can I dress better without looking like a tool?
Q. I've never taken a deep plunge into fashion, so going all out with the latest would not be in my character. I'll wear skinny jeans, but scarves seem awkward if not for cold weather. I don't really understand how to use accessories, or colors, or matching. I'm also short, so any advice on short guys dressing trendy would be greatly appreciated.

A. shirts = plain white tees, graphic tees (no logos if possible), & the occasional abercrombie shirt (dont overdo it tho, or you'll look like a douchebag!)

jeans = anything! guys can pull off virtually any style, so dont limit yourself. heres some inspiration: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/category_full_fashion_guide.jsp?catId=cat130130 -skinny jeans are tricky to pull off, so try on a lot of styles before you buy

NO fashion scarfs! please leave those to women

shoes = you can go with skater vans: http://shop.vans.com/catalog/Vans/en_US/product/men/skate-shoes/widow-men.html

the universally loved converse: http://www.converse.com/?CSID=212#/s/products/collections/specialcollection7 (high or low tops)

or (depending on the occasion) a flip flop: http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=abercrombie

for hoodies and jackets, there are many looks you can go with.

skater = vans, element, fox (you can buy these brands at Pacsun)

beachy-casual = abercrombie, hollister, aeropostle

preppy = the gap

How to dress smart casual for a job?

Q. I'm a boy. The other day a women rang me up about a job and asked me all the usual interview questions, why do you want the job etc.. and asked me to go in for an assessment day. I have received a letter and the dress code is smart casual, what does this mean wearing? also on the letter it says for an interview or something but to told an assessment.anyway any help would be great thanks.

A. "smart Casual" is dressed comfortably for business. The best way to hit all the wickets is to brass in a suit, then remove just the jacket. You will be left wearing "smart" (neat) casual attire. A long sleeve dress shirt with a tie, dress slacks with a belt, leather shoes and appropriate socks. Avoid: Jeans
Trainers
Leather - jackets, skirts or trousers
Combats
Sandals
Golfing gear
You are being assessed for your maturity, business sense, and professional appearance. Leave off the jewelry, cover all tats, ensure your nails are clean, your shoes are polished, and your hair is neatly styled. If you expect to be viewed and treated as a professional, it is important that you "Look" and act as a professional. You never have a second chance to make a "First Impression", so do it right. Forget what your friends think will look cool, forget trendy, earrings, tongue studs, denim, and clothing that makes a statement. You are being assessed as a future representative of the company. Don't be confused by the word "casual". It is casual for the businessmen of society..to you it means "Business attire". Put your best foot forward, show them that you are serious, mature, and can be relied upon to be mature and appropriate. Good Luck

What about a man visually makes a woman go crazy?
Q. Things like high heels, skirts and poses in pictures make us go MY LAWD! What type of things do the same for a girl? Like what type of accessories on a guy, body parts or poses in pics. Or anything. What are the top things visually about a man that make you go MY LAWD!

Thanks

A. A great smile. Clean clothes that are in good repair, fit, and aren't too trendy. Standing up straight. Reading a book or a magazine like Scientific American. Kindness toward small children. Hair that doesn't look like he spent more than 5 minutes on it but that doesn't look unkempt either. Eyes that meet mine when he talks to me. A vocabulary relatively free of profanities. Hands that show that he's not afraid of a little work. Clean nails that aren't bitten down and ragged. Some muscles, but not the super buff gym rat look. Decent shoes. Soberness when all his friends are drunk. A throaty chuckle. Relatively straight teeth, but not too straight, like he spent a fortune on caps. Knowing how to hold a fork. A hint of chest hair peeking out of a white button down shirt. A hint of soap that tells me he recently showered. A nice rear end. A freshly shaven face. A good pair of sunglasses. A watch with a leather band. Combing his hair out of his face with his fingers. Drinking bottled water. Rolling his sleeves up to just below his elbows. A slim wallet. Gazing thoughtfully out a window.

What turns me off: Concert tour tee shirts. Baggy pants. Run-down shoes. Trying too hard to be handsome. Being too loud. Being drunk. Constantly being on the cell phone. Wearing a bluetooth. A car that's too sporty. Button down shirts with the top button done or too many buttons undone. Flabbiness. Reading muscle magazines or car magazines. Looking at every woman that passes by. Owning a pit bull. Coffee breath. Cigarette breath. Constant movement. Talking about golf. Complaining about women. Hating cats. Big belt buckles.

What shoes to wear with purple leg warmers and black leggings?

Q. For school I need to dress in purple. I was thinking about wearing a purple american apparel sweater with leggings but I need more purple. I also have purple leggings at home but I don't know what shoes to wear with them.

I was thinking uggs. I have short and tall uggs. If I wore the leg warmers with uggs do i have the leg warmers sticking out from the uggs or can I cover my uggs in the leg warmers.

Any suggestions? And if you don't think uggs will look good what shoes will?

A. Hi, I I think black or gray uggs would look great. You can wear it over the uggs or inside it, either way I think it would look cute.

You can see below links for leg warmers with uggs to see how it could possibly look:
- bit.ly/UGfcAd
- bit.ly/SyqlRz
- bit.ly/VwZ4Ds
- bit.ly/YPkw7n

Also, other than uggs there are actually countless different ways to pull off the leg warmer trend. The key is to experiment with some looks, and find one where you feel comfortable & confident. Whether, you wear them slouchy, knee or thigh-high, the trendiest way to wear leg warmers right now, is over tights, leggings or skinny jeans and then inside a pair of boots, like these ones:

Can Someone Tell Me How to choose shoes?
Q. I don't mean how to pick a sneaker or a regular shoe (I know that already). I mean the shoes that you wear with your suit (or tuxedo). Can someone give me some tips? Thank You.
And also tell me where I can buy the shoes? Thank You.
And also tell me where I can buy the shoes? Thank You.

A. Buy something with a rounded pointed toe with minimal detail. And it has to be black, and buff them up with a shoe care kit before you go. Balance the shininess of the shoe with the shininess of your suit.

Also, be aware that the amount you spend will be pretty visible in the quality of leather so don't skimp out—don't pretend that cos some people can't tell the difference that the difference is invisible. Also, wear your suit pants when you go to try them on if not your whole suit.

Go to a men's shoe specialist, especially if its run by some old guy and the store looks out of date. Buy something made in Italy or England. You may buy something made in Portugal but reference it against the made in Italy stuff because they do make some pretty cheap looking shoes there too. Look for depth in the leather. You're probably looking at upwards of 280USD. Buy a brogue (safe) or a boot that goes just above your ankle if you trust your judgement on this, but both with laces. I've seen people do a loafer but I think it brings the tone down unless its a summer party outdoors and you don't wear socks and you wear a cropped slim fit suit pant.

You could go with something cheaper and it'll probably last you the night and look fine. Just buying cheap shoes is much more difficult and they never last long—I couldn't give you a buying guide over yahooanswers as it would be too long. Buying something at the 280usd bracket, if you're lucky can last you 5 years plus with some repairs and winds up being better value.

Have a look on the Sartorialist if you need some inspiration, just beware of going for something too trendy as a classic look is always a good look for men.

Oh! And I almost forgot, wear them a bunch before the actual night as it takes a while for the leather to break in. If you don't, you'll be hobbling around and have no fun

I have tiny feet so I can never find shoes that are age-suitable. Where can I buy trendy shoes in small sizes?

Q. I have size 2.5 or 3 feet and can never find any nice shoes for my age (I'm going to be 19 in a month). I'd love to be able to find shoes that are reasonably priced as well as trendy that I can fit into.

A. I know that Zappos definitely carries smaller shoe sizes. Most internet sites will.

Next time you go shoe shopping, find something you like and ask the clerk if you can order it in your size. A lot of stores only stock the most popular sizes even though other sizes are available.

Where can I find the hottest and trendy shoes in my size??!! I am a woman's size 11?
Q. I need wedges, pumps, heels and flats. I love shoes,I just have a hard time finding the hottest shoes people with smaller feet are wearing right now that are my size. I try to search the websites(don't know of too many) but they are either too expensive or too ugly....HELPPPPP!!!

A. Barefoot tess is one site that I know of http://www.barefoottess.com/

Spring trends for 2011? Need SERIOUS fashion help!?

Q. Hey y'all.

So basically, I'm a sweat pants and sweat shirt type of gal. I kind of fell into the winter blues this year, which naturally meant me slumming it out at school in messy sweats every day. I don't think there's anything wrong with sweats (at all) but when it becomes an everyday thing (and when I'm even wearing stained ones) it kind of becomes problematic. I also gained a little bit of weight this winter which also makes me want to hide away in sweats (for lack of a less dramatic term).

It's starting to warm up a little bit again and I'm really wanting to look cute for the 2011 spring and summer! I'm saving up a little bit from my job so I can afford a little bit more because I am in SERIOUS need of new clothes; most of mine are ripped, stained, stretched, or just way to old and worn out. I have enough to pretty much buy the spring essentials, but I was just wondering about you would recommend me to buy for this new year.

Please provide really detailed examples and if you'd like to (I'd love you for it), post links of things you think are cute or that I should add to my closet. I'm basically fashion challenged so post anything you think is cute AND COMFORTABLE. :) Comfort is key for me!
And listen ... any input is greatly appreciated ... anything at all!!

Thanks so much in advance!
Sorry for the grammar mistakes ... I just noticed a bunch of them. Oops!

and THANKS so much for the answers so far.

A. First off, stock up on tons of basics. It's different for every girl, but they should just be pieces that you wear A LOT (jeans, shirts, etc.) and that fit your personal style the best. They should also be pieces that you can wear throughout the seasons, winter, spring, summer. Since you're going to be wearing these a lot, splurge more on basics. The more basics you have, the more options. For example, some of my basics are:

Blazers
White oxfords or button downs
Tights in tons of patterns and colors
Slouchy cardigans
A pair of HIGH heels
Tons of vintage jewelry
A-line skirts (I'm short and petite)
A leather handbag

This way, you won't need to purchase a completely new wardrobe. Just mix in the basics you have with your trendier and warmer pieces. Since it's spring, instead of completely renovating my wardrobe, I only need to buy several things like linen shorts, floral dresses, etc. In the long term, it will save you a LOT of money. And when Fall comes around use the same basics to match with newer purchases.

That's why it's best to spend more money on things you wear a lot. I always buy trendier pieces at cheap stores like Forever 21 because they have SO many styles and whatnot at good prices.e As for my basics, I get them high-end at places like Comme des Garcons, Opening Ceremony, or Barneys. It can be expensive but since they have amazing sales on good basic items, I don't need to buy too many things. As for shoes, I always splurge on these. After all, you're going to be walking around in them all day. Instead of concentrating on quantity, focus on QUALITY. My basics have lasted me for years since I get them cleaned seasonally. Take care of your clothes and they take care of you.

Hope I helped!

Updating my closet? Help on becoming more trendy or stylish?
Q. I want to update my closet with clothes or accessories that i can add to my causal style
this isn't me in the picture but this is basically what i wear... need help i don't want to reinvent my whole style i just want it too look more trendy :)

http://www.google.com/imgres?q=skinny+jeans+and+loose+cardigan&um=1&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1138&bih=535&tbm=isch&tbnid=H9RQYIWaw3EIXM:&imgrefurl=http://www.acutedesigns.org/2011/04/my-go-to-outfit-weekend.html&docid=_W4-qibF8iYWJM&w=1600&h=1200&ei=5XE_Tqn_EunKiAL676joBw&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=397&page=2&tbnh=106&tbnw=146&start=24&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:17,s:24&tx=107&ty=64

A. You seem to have a nice base but one thing your missing of course is...ACCESORIES!! Try mixing some colors in. Take a look at some necklaces at say aldo. A nice splash of color is always nice. If you stick with neutrals, add a red shoe or maybe a yellow handbag. It really adds something to your outfit without being too over the top. In the fall/winter a trench coat and some leather boots with a bit of a heel can look really nice for when your out and about or even just casually. Another staple is a black dress. Something that fights nicely around top and the bottom should reach just above your knee. Paired with a nice necklace, a bright bag and some jewelry can, if done right, look really put together and still be fresh.

Another day look is, wearing the skinnys like in the picture, pair with a white t-shirt and black fitted vest. Looks very hip and trendy. Look around in some magazines for some looks for ideas. Never know what you might find

Which shoes should I wear for this job interview?

Q. I was asked for a second interview at a shoe company working as a sales associate.
I plan to wear a nice blouse and black jeans, but I'm not sure if I should wear black toms to complete the black for the lower half or wear nude heels to show a trendier side. (my selection of shoes is very limited)
thanks!

A. I work in retail hiring and I always suggest to wear heels to an interview. Never Toms to any interview, way too casual. I would also suggest to wear black dress pants instead of jeans. Black heels are best.

I'm looking for wholesale suppliers for women clothing?
Q. Looking for wholesale supplier that has good quality material and very trendy and fashionable. I'm looking for clothes and shoes to sale on my online store catering to women ages 21 to 30. I'm looking for high fashion wear. Can anybody please help with any information. Thank you.

A. Check out sellerfly.com. I use them for video games but I've seen their clothing suppliers and they sell tons of women's designer clothes, handbags, and jewelry.

Pretty, cute, trendy, and modest ideas for tween girl clothing?
Q. Hi! I am thirteen and I just want some cute outfit ideas for the summer! I want pretty modest (not like floor length skirts or anything) and trendy outfit ideas. I don't want something too old looking or too young. Haha thanks!

A. Get some cute flower print shorts with solid tops in the colors of the flowers. Get a sundress that matches one of your lightweight cardigans so you can wear it with the cardi for church or dinner out with the family or wear it by itself to a party with cute sandals. Striped dresses are trendy so that would be good.

White shoes are trendy too, so get white sandals because they coordinate with everything. If you want to get more, then get some extra shorts or cute capris that will go with the solid tops you bought for the multicolor shorts. btw, the first link is shorts for older girls. If you can't wear those sizes, then the second link is in junior sizes and so is the stripe dress which would go with any color of skinny belt and colored shoes. So cute!! : }

I have big feet. How am I to find a pair of descent, good-looking shoes with feet as big as mine??

Q. It's like this, I go to a shoe store & all of he shoes there are so trendy and everything. So, for feet as big as mine, I cant find one that I'm satisfied with. I wear sport shoes to school. And that ain't comfortable.

A. YOU DIDN'T SAY WHAT SIZE AND IT'S NOT NECESSARY FOR ME TO KNOW. GO ONLINE AND TRY MASON SHOES, MORDSTROM'S, CLOUD CLIMBERS, LANE BRYANT AND FOR DISCOUNT SHOES AND BOOTS TRY JESSICA LONDON. EACH COMPANY LISTED HAS CATALOGS ONLINE AND IN PAPER. THE SIZES RANGE FROM NARROW TO EXTRA WIDE AND THEY HAVE YOUNG UP TO DATE SELECTIONS FOR THE MOST PART. THERE ARE SOME SPECIALTY SHOE STORES OUT HERE TOO. JUST BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF AND SURF THE NET. TRY "LARGE SIZE SHOES FOR WOMEN" FOR INITIAL WEB SEARCH AND TAKE IT FROM THERE.

Where can I find fashionable plus size shoes?
Q. Does anyone know where I can buy either in a store or online trendy plus size shoes like for a size 12 womans foot? Every website I find has real ugly and outdated shoes. HELPP!
anddd... I'm not a monster, I'm just really tall at 6'1 so its hard for me to find tall lengths and bigger shoes =(

A. I believe Payless goes up to a 13. Nordstrom is always a good bet - they started out as a hard to find shoe specialist, way back when, and have kept that aspect of their business up even after re-focusing to fashion.

There are quite a few more listed in our shoe directory, that notes sizes (and widths) at:

Shoes for Highschool... what do you like?

Q. Hi Guys,
I am looking for a new pair of shoes... I'll be a Junior in highschool.
I have a long (looonng... like size 9.5) narrow foot so something that wouldn't make my foot look super huge would be nice...
I was looking a pumas ... they dont make my feet look super huge and they are nice and narrow.
I used to wear skater shoes... and last year I wore tennis shoes... and I'm looking for something different.
If you guys have any suggestions that'd be great...
online sites are fine.
Thanks!

A. Puma is the way to go. They are comfy and trendy.

You can check out for deals at:

http://www.pumaspeedcatshoes.com

They always have new puma deals on there all the time.

Good Luck,
M

Are TOMS shoes worth it?
Q. Do TOMS last long? My birthdays coming up, and I finally convinced my mom to get me TOMS for my b-day, although they're 60 dollars with tax.. and that's a lot of money, and I don't want to waste her money, if the shoes don't even last long, especially since I walk a lot.
Also, I'm 5'3 1/2 or so and am size 7.5-8(in US) considering this, I have pretty narrow and big feet :/ and I don't want my feet to look even bigger, also to add, I wear skinny jeans.
Bottom line is, are TOMS worth it? Do you think I should get TOMS? Will they look horrible on me?
(Yes I realize that they're so expensive because one pair is donated, but TOMS look like they aren't very hold-able. Yet, TOMS seem to be the big trend at my school.)

A. TOMS don't last long.
I would get shoes that are BOTH comfy, trendy, AND last long.
There are lots of shoes that must be trendy in your school. I know TOMS are trendy in my school but not everyone wears them. Some people in my school wears Vans, Nike, flats, reebok, etc.

I would get some running shoes or sneakers or cute flats

PLUS you can't really get active like jog or play sports in them.
TOMS are more for like going out.

And it only looks good on people with thin legs in my opinion,

TOMS are like 50 dollars at Nordstrom,

But with sneakers or running shoes, anybody and pull it off and also they are cheaper (depends what shoes you get actually)

Flats, they ARE MUCH CUTER than TOMS. Toms are plain and simple with a little tag. Flats can have bows, silver, gold, etc. Unless you get the TOMS with designs or glitter.

If you wear TOMS to school for 5 days straight, walking to each period. Your feet will get MAJOR sores.
And you can't wear socks with Toms (well you can but it would look silly).

I am 5'6 and wear 8 size, and my feet look OK. no one at school insults my feet,
Sorry this is too much. ;)

What kind of dress shoes or sandals will look with this dress for an outside wedding?

Q. I'm going to my friends wedding this Saturday and do not know what kind of dress shoes or sandals to wear that day.

Here is the dress:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151707931150747&set=pcb.10151707931315747&type=1&theater

Links of dress shoes or sandals from target or payless in wide will help out a lot and thank you to everyone who helps out with this one.

A. 1. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-mossimo-veruca-snub-toe-pump-assorted-colors/-/A-14242109#prodSlot=medium_1_7

2. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-xhilaration-sae-pumps-fawn/-/A-14302673#prodSlot=medium_1_8

3. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-xhilaration-susy-strappy-heel-blush/-/A-14431340#prodSlot=medium_1_14 - for a sexier/elegant look

4. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-mossimo-pearlynn-chunky-peep-toe-heels-black-white/-/A-14338288#prodSlot=medium_1_44 - for a trendy, fashionista look

5. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-mossimo-perl-cage-high-heel-sandals-white/-/A-14309839#prodSlot=medium_2_6 - for a sexier/fun look

6. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-xhilaration-presta-open-toe-strappy-heels-yellow/-/A-14304083#prodSlot=medium_2_10 - to add in some colour to your outfit

7. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-sam-libby-margot-open-toe-pump-turquoise-brown/-/A-14411193#prodSlot=medium_2_11 - also to add in some colour :)

for more comfortable shoes or if it is an outdoor wedding,

8. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-mossimo-supply-co-waneta-macrame-wedge-sandal-natural/-/A-14420589#prodSlot=medium_1_40

9. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-mossimo-supply-co-latia-flat/-/A-14316336#prodSlot=large_1_10

10. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-merona-etha-cork-low-wedge-sandal-white/-/A-14385062#prodSlot=medium_3_39

there are plenty but, the basic guideline would be to go for shoe colours that are in the dress such as white or tan/beige/nude or pale yellow or pale green. in this case, avoid black as it would look a tad bit awkward with this dress.

What are classic pieces that every woman should have in her wardrobe?
Q. I am looking to update my wardrobe, and want items that won't go out of style.

A. Jeans and Pants

Two pairs of trousers which vary in style. Wide-legged pants or man-style trousers and another pair that are a more timeless, classic cut.
Two pairs of jeans in different cuts. Fitted, straight legged or flared and wide-legged or man style. This can include skinny jeans if you have the body shape to wear them.

Coats and Jackets

A really great, well-cut coat. A timeless trench will take you from season to season.
Two jackets. One that can be teamed with pants and the other that looks good over dresses.

One classic, fitted white shirt, crisp and classy.
A cashmere sweater and cardigan in a V-neck and round neck.

Prom dresses for 2011?

Q. I'm going to a combined junior and senior prom with my boyfriend, so the first problem I have is: should I wear a short or a long dress? I would definitely be more comfortable in a short dress because I am short (about 5' 3") and I don't want to feel drowned by a dress. Second, I don't want a sparkly or shiny dress, just something simple, with a closed back. I found this dress: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=13658&vid=1&pid=836590 but obviously I want something much nicer than that, but something along those lines. I also like this one: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/en-creme-lace-illusion-dress-juniors/3169789?origin=category&resultback=635 I want a champagne colored one because spring break is right before and I'll be really tan and it will complement it well. Any suggestions/help are welcome! Thanks in advance.

Flowy cardigans or lacey/ see through
flowy blouses,

White or Khaki capris
White jeans
In detail:
sun dresses<-- Adorable to wear with a cardigan, statement jewelry, and sandals!

Lace/crochet tops, nautical tops (stripes, navy & white) These 2 are my favorite summer trends! Looks good with a statement piece (Long necklaces with a giant gemstone/pendant/design, owls, Feathers! Feather earrings! Gold studded bracelets! Multiple friendship bracelets<- Nordstrom has a lot)

Popular= crop tops/ Dolman tops! Pretty much anything flowy!

Cardigans (one flowy or lacey and another short sleeved sleeved one) You can get them at Forever 21, Macy's, etc. For plain ones you can get them at Nordstrom too!

Shoes:
Sandals: Gold- Steve madden! And now those tan, leather ones with many straps!

For trendy stores try Forever21. and other favorite trendy stores of mine are:
Urban outfitters!!
Anthropologie!!!
Free People!!
Zara/ H&M/ Bebe
Vs Pink (This might be common)

Fall:
Haha! the Fall runways shows came out a few days ago but here is just the general gist of it:

70s fashion
Like the '50s and '60s coming back, so are the '70s! There are two main aesthetics: '70s bohemian, and '70s sophisticated glamour. This includes dresses that fall like shimmering water in the evening and high-waist pants with elegant blouses by day! High waisted wide-leg pants or flares, smartly belted in.Neat bow-blouses, especially ones with billowing or bishop sleeves. Particularly great are fabrics like silk and satin.Roll neck sweaters tucked into pants or skirts. Also layering over beaded necklaces or a vest!

Pleats- Popular in spring and also for fall! However, then pleats will be worn paired socks or tights and heels, and some cosy layers on top. A rock-chic pair of boots, mixed styles for contrasts (like flowly pleated skirts with a bohemian fur or a tough biker jacket), etc....

Fur Clothing- as always...
Bell Bottoms- aka Flare jeans
Wide Leg Pants

Accessories:
Leather-ware harness
Choker necklaces
Cuff bracelets!
Studs

Colors: This year fall is slightly different! Bright colors are also going to be trendy with fall!
Black
Olive
Bronze shades?
Midnight blue, silver, and gray shades
Forest green and plum

Oh! and I think that the popular tribal print will be slightly reinvented as a trend for Autumn too!
Uhh Feather, Tribal, Army green will be popular in both seasons!

Dress nonchalantly. Don't overdo it or under do it by wearing sweats. I think the 2nd and 3rd days are the days you should wear you cute new stuff :D. Be different!
Oh! I was going to add... you should also buy cute jackets like white jean jacket, cropped jean jacket, etc over dresses (very cute) or tanks that don't meet dresscode and Miss me jeans, uggs, Juicy couture, Pink hoodies, Coach bags are also popular

Where can I sell my old clothes in Amsterdam?

Q. I have some pretty good shoes and sweaters that I know will be a hit at the local vintage stores, but as far as I know, none of them buy clothes. I could really use the extra money too. Any ideas?

A. I recommend you this website: http://www.swapandthecity.com/

Is a new project in Amsterdam but has been quite trendy in the US, it seems to be for women, but hey who knows maybe is also for guys...

There is a swap "party" on november 29th, and you need to buy a ticket to get in, read the website to see if it applies to what you want to do :)

Good luck :)

why do shoe makers put such big heels on running shoes?

Q. no one runs landing on their heels. don't they know this? while i agree with some of the idea of those knew trendy barefoot glove shoes, i don't imagine ever seeing old people wearing something with such a small amount of padding....and we're all going to get old....i'd like to take precaution to how much impact my feet take.

A. You're better off running barefoot. Your feet take *less* impact if you run barefoot because you don't land on your heels when you run barefoot. Forget the "trendy barefoot glove shoes", though. They're a waste of $$$. Just go barefoot.

I have fat feet does anyone know where I can buy heels?
Q. I have fat feet and I really love wearing heels and wedged shoes the only problem is I have a hard time finding shoes that fit and it makes me really really embarrassed when I can't buy the shoes I want so I was wondering if anyone knew of any trendy cool sites or shops in Atlanta that have shoes for women with fat feet.

A. The Avenue (which is a plus-size clothing store) has some shoes in wide widths (www.avenue.com; they're called "Cloudwalkers" shoes...but I'd go to a store & try them on, because they seem to run a little big); Payless; or go to a website like www. zappos.com or www.endless.com and search for the shoes that come in wider widths.

I also have wider feet...some brands are better than others. Nine West & Bandolino seem to run a little wider than some other brands of dressy shoes; for casual shoes, Born is actually a M/W width and they have some adorable wedgy sandals.

Are these boots still in?

Q. http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/women/boots/ankle-boots/79990747-swendsen/94

Cause I bought them for 100$ in Malaysia and I'm scared it won't be in for so long, means I wasted my money on something I wouldn't wear alot. Are they still in? When will they die? Are they nice? Any tips?

A. They're totally in.
Ankle boots are trendy this season. For the fashion shows i've seen for Spring Summer 2011 womanswear, a lot of designers are going lighter and colorful. Chanel did a platform sandal, that a lot of people weren't to fond over, but who knows it could be the new celine platforms.
I saw a lot of designers swapping out heels for flats.

Right now, these boots are great for fall/winter. You can wear it with mini skirts, a dress, jeggings, jeans, etc., but for spring, things are getting more softer and these boots seemed to be harsher.
So you can totally wear it this season.

I think the boots are pretty chic.

What is a good website for cute/trendy womens shoes?

Q. I am looking for some trendy shoes or boots for this winter. I don't want to pay a lot. I would like to find stuff thats under $50.

A. www.zappos.com

lots of brands, great prices, free shipping. Doesn't get better than that...
Happy shopping!!!!!

What can I put into my shoes to stop them from irritating my achilles?
Q. I know that in general, vans, converse, and other trendy shoes are generally not good for your feet, but what causes this? Is there anything that can be done about this issue?

A. Thats becasue they make shoes for the looks these days, and not support. Get some arch supports. Try Dr Scholls, or store brand, thats all you need.

Should I take all the hosiery out of my 4 sockdrawers and hand them out to the chicken legged women I saw?

Q. I was in a foodcourt downtown today where there are alot of office workers. I was shocked at the number of women who although they were wearing dresses (I give them points for that) they were bare legged! It is totally gross to look at white chicken legs under a dress. I am light skinned myself and never go bare legged in public, let alone to an office job. I also saw women in slacks with open toed shoes. Yuck, who wants to look at toes and feet in a food area? I have about 100 pairs of trendy tights and hosiery. Should I take them downtown and hand them out to my poor bare legged sisters?

I don't care if the weather is hot, looking good comes before comfort.

A. i agree 100% they should cover up those legs

Can someone please help me with an outfit?
Q. Hi! i am going to a college for a field trip and i want to look pretty on that field trip idk why but can someone help me?

A. You can look pretty but field tripos and college are usually more casual so reserve anything fancy like heels or dressy dresses for dates, evening outs and parties.

What kind of outfits really depends on your style though but here are some ideas:

A common outfit - casual by stylish:
# Skinny/Straight jeans tucked into tall boots (or ankle booties) worn a loose tunic top or button-up & cardigan/blazer/bomber jacket with minimal accessories like stud earrings & a bracelet

Feminine but casual Outfit
# Dress down a flowy skirt with opaque tights, add dolly flats (or something similare) and a nice t-shirt or knit top. Throw on a cardigan/bomber jacket or cardigan.

If you prefer going more casual like hoodies.
# Wear the hoodie a casual but pretty top (e.g. a jersey wrap top or white cotton collar blouse) and nice jeans or slacks with ballerina flats
http://img2.etsystatic.com/000/0/5271781/il_fullxfull.260125282.jpg
# Wear your favorite sneakers with cuffed shorts shorts, add tights if its still chilly outside and a nice top with cardigan/blazer or bomber jacket.

Phew, I could rabble on outfit ideas forever but I hope these outfits will spark some ideas.
Most of outfits are low-key but nor too casual but not dressy at the same time. Some of the outfits has a tailored proffessional vibe but they are not too much for college. The only bad things to some people is that you can come off mature which can be either a bad or good thing depending on your perspective. If you dont have any problem with a lady-like classy look then none of the outfits would be bad!
I wear to a school similare to college and these are things I wear.

Anyway, hope it helped!

how does type 2 diabetes affect your life?

Q.

A. Not much, once you get used to it. I can still enjoy M&Ms so long as I can work it into my carb count. It's only a handfull or two, not the whole 12 oz bag, though :-) Having to keep high carb snacks on hand for possible hypo episodes is kind of like keeping oil and fluids in the car just in case you need them. Taking the meds is what, all of ten seconds out your day? Checking your blood sugar doesn't take much more time than that either. Exercise for the enjoyment of it and you won't feel like it's a punishment to be diabetic (if you don't like walking, try taking ballroom dancing).

Now, dealing with other people can be a challenge. Non diabetics can be clueless, and refuse to learn anything. Other diabetics think they know more than your doctor does. Some of have "food police" in the family, some of us have "diabetes isn't real" family members.

But, you see a doctor more often than if you weren't diabetic, so you're getting better healthcare. Your diet improves. You choose good fitting shoes over trendy looking, bad fitting ones. You care about issues like national health insurance, medicare/medicaid, social security, etc, even if you aren't old yet.

When should males start buying from mens?
Q. I am 5 feet tall. my shoe size is 6.5, but i always wear a half size bigger so that i can make them last longer while i get newer shoes so i can have alot of them. And one more thing, whats the difference between Kids, Juniors, and Men. not really kids, andmen, but how is juniors different from men and kids and what is it? Also i'm turning 13 next month

A. My personal feeling is that you should star buying men's clothes when you start high school. This includes both men's departments, and also stores meant for both teens and young adults, like American Eagle and the like.

Also, in a department store, the differences are something like
Kids = for little kids
Juniors = trendy crap
Men's/Ladies = a variety of clothes meant for adults, or teenagers who prefer classics over weird fads and trends, but you have to find what's right for you because these sections have things meant for 15-year-olds all the way to things meant for 100-year-olds.

What to wear at the office with a pinstripe suit?

Q. I like dark grey suits with white vertical pinstripes for business wear. I have also worn solid dark blue ones for variety, but I like grey ones better. White broadcloth shirts are most formal, but there may be alternatives that are still sober and dignified. What colors and patterns of shirts and ties do you suggest for my formal business look? How about shoes? For bonus points, what brands and models of watches would you wear with such a business ensemble? It seems that magazines have recommended many tres gauche combos, and celebrities have worn many tasteless ones, so people are confused about proper dress now. Some people who have answered questions in this category have good taste, but some do not.
Doesn't anyone know something about proper dress for business? Surely someone works in a proper and conservative office as I have. I see some people recommending garish and tasteless ensembles, somewhat along the lines of stuff Woody Allen once wore to be ridiculous, but now, other celebrities wear worse stuff and don't know or don't care if it is tasteless.
I want to see what people say about watches. For business, Simple is best, so "Cellinis' are the Rolexes proper to wear with suits. I saw one recently for $3650. My basic dress watches by Cartier, Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe cost $10,700 to $15,000 now. I have 2 Rolex sports watches. The gold bracelet "OP Datejust" cost $13,150 in 1994. My Breguet "Marine" cost $29,500. The most complicated Rolex is a "Cosmograph Daytona" chronograph. I think a new on in gold costs $19,450. The ultimate single complication is chimes, e.g, a $507,000 Vacheron Constantin "30010" platinum skeleton minute repeater. I have written seeral books about watches. I am working on the 4th edition of "THE COSTLIEST WATCH BRANDS". Rolex places 41st now. In earlier editions, it was 18th to 24th. Breguet was costliest with Patek philippe 2nd, Vacheron constantin 3rd and A. Lange & Sohne 4th. A new brand Richard Mille wins now.
My coloring shows my 2 Cherokee grandmothers, i.e black hair with red highlights (some grey around the ears since age 17), ruddy bronze tanned skin plus brown eyes. when i was age 10, we went to a Cherokee village at the foot of the Smoky mountains. The Indians nearly kept me. Dad was amused. They didn't notice my siblings who have olive skins and medium brown hair. I look Cherokee, but they do not.

A. *laugh*

Ok.. first off, dark grey and white is pretty neutral as it can get. You could pretty much go for most colours, but I'd suggest lighter colours rather than the medim>dark colors. Why? because medium shades might be too intense against the contrast of the dark suit, and dark colored shirts will blend in too much... might make you look too .. dull.

Now, it depends on your skintone what colors look best on you. If you're light skinned, there are certain shades that will bring out your coloring, versus if you were dark or olive skinned. Without your notes on coloring, I can't really suggest any colours or any shades of colors... (example: yellows might make olive skin look too strange and dull, but the light blues/greens will bring olive skintones out) That's not a hard and fast rule because a very pale shade of yellow might look stunning against you, just not a green-yellow or a blue-yellow.. it's all relative in how the light hits your skin and bounces off the suit.

As for shirts/ties.. the general rule is that if your shirt is busy or bright, go for a neutral tie.

example: pinstriped suit, a light green shirt with faint white checks in it (not plaid..please), means you wear a tie that's a light grey/silver to pick up the white in the pinstripe, or even have a tie that's a mix of greens and silvers or a pattern to really bring out the shirt. You can go kind of crazy in terms of slick patterns with the ties (checks, stripes, light dots), but nothing like saxophones or weird babies on the front please... Spend up to about $100/tie, in a neutral silver or offsilver colour and it'll go with pretty much any shirt/suit combo.

As for shoes, if you have cash to blow, go to a high end store like Holt Renfrew in Toronto (depending on where you are, ask a woman..) and get a black and a brown pair of shoes, in real leather that are comfortable, and the same height (so that your pants will hang at the same height each time)

THen you'll need to get your pinstriped suit tailored to fit you perfectly, and to get the tailor to put a proper break in your pants so that they sit well over your new shoes. I like the Gucci loafers for men... if you can't afford high end, go to a place like a department store, or Aldos, or any place that sells trendy but decently done shoes.

The best watch? Rolex of course. Then Gucci or Prada. If you can't afford that, you could even go to Walmart and pick out a gorgeous smoked-grey face watch with a clean, silver band that would look great with your grey pinstriped suit. You can also try Fossil watches for a lower-end alternative that will last almost forever.

Some options for dress watches:

What advice do you have for me to build a new wardrobe?
Q. I'm a female college-age adult, with an androgynous aesthetic. I have lost pretty significant amounts of weight and need to basically rebuild my wardrobe nearly from scratch. I might as well try to do it right, since my body fat is probably not going to change substantially even though I'm trying to build up muscle. I am 5'3" and of medium body fat and above average muscularity, with medium-to-broad shoulders (narrow for a man, fairly broad for a woman); typical female thighs, hips and butt; B-cup breasts, a flat stomach; and an undefined waist. To me, flattering my body, in order of priority means looking making my shoulders look even broader, making my hips and thighs look narrower, looking taller, disguising my breasts and otherwise looking more masculine. My life-style requires that my clothing NOT look "moneyed" in any sense and I am almost never at formal events. I'd rather have my clothing be hard-wearing than delicate. I dress for practicality and comfort primarily. It doesn't have to be "trendy" and I wouldn't know if it was. It's winter so I'm concentrating on cool-weather clothing. I don't need new shoes or underwear. I have a very small budget so I will be shopping pretty near exclusively at thrift stores. I need general tips for clothing that works flatter my body in MY idea of flattering, and is comfortable and fairly practical.
I don't have a sense of style. I have a sense of wanting to look good in clothing that's comfortable. For me, looking good means looking more physically masculine. I want to know about clothing that helps with that.

A. Invest in good basic pieces such as:
- A crisp white button down
- Tank tops to wear as layers in black, white, beige
- One good pair of black or navy dress pants

Things of that sort. Things that aren't trendy but stand the test of time.

Are there any other nice places to shop for CUTE plus size clothes?

Q. Hi there, I am a Lane Bryant and Torrid fan. I can also find cute clothes at Nordstrom's and Macy's. However, I am not interested in looking like anyone's Granny. Any ideas on other places or websites that sell cute plus size clothes that are well made?

Thanks!

A. I feel your pain! I usually find great clothes at those stores, but some of them aren't my style. I can usually find great basic pieces... like dress pants, button up shirts, and jeans at Macy*s and Lane Bryant but I like the hip stuff too!

In my area, these are the places I go to...

Goody's. Believe it or not, they have a small section in the Plus Size women's department called Junior Plus. I bought some of my favorite summer outfits from there this year. They usually have the trendy stuff, too! I like their summer tops and shorts!

Ross. If you have one of these near you, I suggest that you go! Their Woman's World section usually has a bunch of clothes for the older lady, but they also have a lot of cute style clothes. I got some really cute hoodies and tops there this fall. When I go there, I usually find 90430344909085 things or NOTHING. It can really be hit or miss. If you take the time to look through each hanger, you will find some cute stuff. They go up to a size 4X too. Oh, and check out their dresses! They have a ton of dresses in Plus Size!

Cato. There is a Cato right down the road from me. They have Petite and Plus. What is cool is that anything that they have in Petite... they have the same exact thing in Plus. I hate going by a window and being like... "That outfit is so cute!" only to find out that it only goes up to a size 12. :( Again, you really have to look through the racks, but I have bought some nice stuff there. Also, they have a shoe section with plenty of wides and size 9, 10, 11.

Fashion Bug. While their stuff is usually lower quality, they do gear a lot of their clothes to the younger crowd. They usually have awesome dresses and stuff. I have a hard time finding dresses for weddings and events like that, but Fashion Bug has come through for me a lot. And they have cute underwear, especially if you like thongs and boyshorts.

Believe it or not, I do like to shop at Wal*Mart and Target sometimes. I find great basics like velvet pant suits, long sleeve t-shirts, and capris/shorts.

OldNavy. They used to have a better selection in the store, but they have gone exlusively online for their Plus Sizes. If you know what size you are, then you can shop there. I try not to buy online because I like to try something on, but I am really familiar with their sizes. OldNavy is probably one of my favorite places for summer clothing.

Those are my usual spots! I wish you luck because I know how hard it is to find something that looks cute and is flattering to our body type! Good luck!

Where to find casual trendy clothes for extra tall young men?

Q. My boyfriend is 6 ft. 4in. And weighs about 220lbs and he hates his height. One of the reasons why is because he cannot find any clothes that fit him properly. Right now he wears plain t shirts and baggy jeans held up by a belt. He would like to have variety. He's 21 and doesn't want to dress up in clothes that make him look like a teacher or any older like how most Big & Tall stores do. He is also incredibly sensitive about the style of pants he wears because (this is in all seriousness-not trying to be funny or inappropriate) he has a very LARGE p.e.n.i.s. And it shows if his pants are too tight (that's why he wears them baggy). I just would like to help him find a few stores that would carry clothing that would fit him and look trendy like how any 21 year old male would like to dress. Online store suggestions would also be a good help! (He would also like a choice of places to look for shoes, he wears a size 18)

Please help.

A. Ballroom jeans.....maybe that would give him some extra room. I think he would be better off finding clothing he likes that are slightly bigger and have them altered to fit. Some people have such different bodies that they break the mold most of the rest of us fit in to. Plus getting your clothing fitted and altered can be fun and you feel special.

Back-to-school Trends for Fall 2011?

Q. Hi! Ok so I'm going back to school in 2 weeks, and I want to get unique clothes that are me but still trendy...I'm into indie/preppy kinda clothes. Do you guys have any idea where I could shop for these and any essentials I should buy...?
I was thinking WetSeal and Rue21. Also shoes! I like Sperry Top siders...
Also don't say Forever21 bc everyone shops there and that makes it boring.
Thanks so much!(:

A. Fringe (really into style at the moment.)
Off-shoulder/baggy clothing.
Cropped pants.
Sandals.
Cardigans (quarter sleeve)
Long necklaces/thick bracelets.
Rompers.
Off shoulder sweatshirts.

Hope I helped!

are their any french women out their who could give me some beauty secrets?
Q. i love french women, id like to pick up some of their advice.

A. I am not French but have learned a lot about French skin care regimens over the past few months as a consultant for a new company called Votre Vu. Our products, which are produced outside of Paris, were only available in high-end European spas until this past September when Votre Vu launched.

So regarding skin care: most French skin care is natually based and the majority of all the good-for-you ingredients in naturally based lines are grown to peak perfection in France because of the climate, soil, etc. So kind of how Florida is known for their oranges, France produces some of the best botanicals used in skin care. The products are great for your skin. My skin has never felt better since I've been using Votre Vu.
French skin care also has higher % of all the good stuff - products are filled with waxes and fillers.

Also, French women use different creams/moisturizers for different body parts - not all skin is create equal! In America we are just told to use our face cream on our neck, however, the French have special creams for the neck because the skin on our neck is different then the skin on our face. Another area they pay special attention to with special cremes is the bust area. I learned this because Votre Vu offers a neck creme and a bust creme. We are bringing French traditions to American mainstream.

Also, French women eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Did you read the book "French women don't get fat"? It talks a lot about that. But not only does diet effect a women's figure, it can effect her skin and hair.

Don't know if those were the kind of tips you were looking for, but hopefully it helps some!

Merci!
Heather Wolgamott

I also ran into this:
Here are the secrets of French women you can use to help you stand out from the crowd:

1. French women intimately know their body and which styles look good on them. They do not beat themselves up for perceived flaws, but know how to creatively put emphasis on their assets. French women have more personality when it comes to their style - they own their look. So, it's key to establish a unique look that works for you.

2. French women buy a handful of good quality, neutral-colored staples that they can mix and match with each other for maximum wear. They do not "collect" clothing. Clothing is an investment and is meant for a return on their investment. They also know when to purge an item.

3. French women know the power of accessories. They cherish four to five high-end fashion accessories (costume jewelry and scarves) that they wear all the time. They might add one or two new trendy pieces each season and wear them out. They also invest in high quality everyday leather handbags and shoes, keeping their return on investment in mind.

4. French women become friends with a great hair stylist who is skilled at working with their hair type. They get a fuss-free hairstyle and maintain it with great conditioners.

5. French women treat their skin as the treasure it is. Get a facial every month or just give yourself a weekly facial. Maintain, protect and nourish your skin daily. If you have great skin, you radiate and barely need any make-up.

6. French women use make-up as an aid to emphasize their beautiful features, not hide them under layers and layers of coating. The principle applied is: less is more. Your basics include: tinted moisturizer with SPF, a light powder, blush, a great mascara and a lipstick or lip gloss.

7. French women know only too well that you are what you eat, which is why they follow a diet that is rich in seasonal produce, red meat and oily fish - all of which help to keep a figure trim and hair, nails and skin in tip-top condition. To further boost their skin's radiance, French women will also drink plenty of water and, for general well-being, eat a little of what they fancy - including chocolate and a glass of red wine. They relish in the pleasure of small indulgences and do not beat themselves up, like American women. Everything in moderation and smaller portions.

8. French women believe in getting their exercise throughout the day, by walking and biking. The important message here is to not become obsessed about your fitness activities, but pursue them with pleasure. If you hate the stair climber or even going to the gym, find something that gives you enjoyment and not dread. And again, don't beat yourself up if you're not keeping up with all your colleagues latest fitness center stories. It's time to be unique and do what is fun for you! Follow the French on a balanced and time-tested approach to life.
