A. I hope i answered your question.

Well you cant forget about the neutrels, burmuda shorts, and dont forget the wedge shoes.

Seasonal Color Trends

This season's Spring colors are more subdued and romantic. Powdery pastels in baby blue, apricot, pale yellow, and light shades of green will bring out your feminine side. Paired with classic neutrals such as black, white and taupe, you're sure to find shades that suit you best.

Summer Fabrics

The new Spring and Summer season brings back some great classic fabrics. Now you'll be seeing more light, lacy fabrics and the basic cotton stretch. Spandex-inspired designs offer comfort and versatility that allow women of all shapes and sizes to enjoy. Dresses and skirts in flowing chiffon and silk are sure to please those looking for a feminine, classy look. Great for work and fun!

Patterns

For those who prefer color, go bright and bold. For style and sophistication, opt for luscious garden prints, retro patterns and black and white geometrical shapes. Many cultures add to ethnic styles with colorful patterns mixed with rich, earth tones.

For a classical look, preppy polo shirts give you stripes galore! The further apart the stripes, the larger you may appear. If you're concerned, choose tops with stripes closer together, with only two colors. Diagonal lines can be rather slimming if they're narrow and meet at the front. Vertical stripes on trousers are a must-have, but only paired with a solid shirt or blouse.

Style Trends

This summer brings some new, exciting fashion trends. With warmer weather moving in, women want simple, feminine styles. Traditional, tailored clothing are classic and will always be a shoe-in for business, weddings, or formal events. Layer your clothing to switch from work to play. Keep your classics cleaned and pressed for impromptu summer events and activities.

Look for denim blue jeans that are cuffed at least 3" deep with sexy, flat sandals. Cool things off with a tank top to expose your shoulders. Don't go light on support, invest in a seasonal bra that has clear or removable straps. Look for tanks and halters that have a built-in bra for style and convenience.

Spring's knee-length skirts flow naturally for eye-catching appeal. Solid colors and subtle designs are more traditional while unique patterns allow us to show personality and pizzazz. Faded denim is always a hit for a rock concert or wild night in the city.

Combine a basic tee, gypsy-style skirt, and flip-flops to gain immediate attention. For a more sophisticated look, pair a great flouney skirt with a stylish tank top. Sandals or wedge shoes in a neutral color compliment most styles and are practical for warmer weather.

Trendy, military inspired clothing shows your support and is an instant hit for casual wear. Take your pick from light cotton cargos, camouflage, walking shorts, and belted jackets. Be creative and accessorize with a belt and dog tags.

Modern Accents and Accessories

The upcoming Spring fashions accentuate unique personalities and bring with it some of Winter's hottest trends in accessories and jewelry.

For necklaces, think layers and match up with funky beads and symbolic pendants.

Bangle bracelets and watches adorned with etchings or glitter.

Toe rings, thumb rings, body jewelry.

Chunky, ethnic pieces. Old fashioned designs.

Sunglasses with oversized frames and lenses.

A flirty sarong for the beach.

Open-backed slides with sequin accents and beads.

Hot Makeup Trends:

What's hot this Summer? Makeup adds definition to the face and this season brings earthy shades with defined cheeks. For those who are a little more conservative, taupe will lift your spirit and look great in pictures. Both peaches and corals radiate a youthful glow -- and can take years off of your face. From eye shadow, cheeks, to lips, pink gives you a healthy look, while underplaying fine lines and wrinkles.

who want to buy boots on summer?
Q. i don't mean summer boots
but winter boots
like those http://www.kicksexpress.com/women-shoes/women-boots.html
i love , beacuse i think it's cheaper now!

A. There are a lot of cute boots in the link you provide. But whose to say, you're supposed to wear ANYTHING at any particular time of the year? If you get fuzzy warm boots and want to wear them during the summer, it's not prob-- just wear them with cute short shorts, a sun dress, or a flirty skirt. I think that would look summery and trendy.

what are the hottest shoes for 7yr. olds that provide good arch support for flat feet?

Q. cant use orthotics for the simple reason there expencive and the rate he's growing wouldnt be in them long,so it needs to be a shoe with great arch support.

A. At 7, I should seriously hope nobody cares about how hot or trendy their shoes are. However, as far as good arch support, my family tends to have flat feet, and our favorite sneaker brands for arch support are New Balance, Skechers, and Vans (not the canvas slip-ons, but the skate sneakers).

Anybody have any suggestions for trendy walking shoes?
Q. I live in NYC, and walk A LOT. I am flat-footed, and I also just found out that I have plantar fascitis in the heels of my feet. (Plantar fascitis is some sort of inflammation, and so it hurts when I put too much pressure (or even lightweight pressure) on that area of my foot.) I also work in the fashion industry. I am used to wearing trendy heels all day long, but for obvious reasons, cannot anymore. I am looking for a good, comfortable pair of flats that I can walk to and from work in and also look good with most work outfits (suits, skirts, nice jeans, etc--that is why regular sneakers just won't work). Anybody have any recommendations?

A. i think that you should get comfy ballet flats try to avoid the plastic kind and get ones that fit perfectly because i have two plastic kind and they give me alot of blsters but then i have these soft ,aterial ones and they are comfy their like wearing slippers you can find them almost anywhere they are relly in and hope they stay in because their are trons of styles and umm i thinking forever 21 in..i think harold square should have some or h&m or some local places. like i said everyone has em girl !!

what are some cute & trendy shoes that you really like?

Q. I'm looking to ask for a closed toe shoe for christmas, that are NOT sneakers, is there any particular pair of shoes that you are wearing right now (and that you really like?). thanks so much for your help! I'd like something other than uggs. I'm 5' 4" and about 80 lbs, and uggs do not look good on my skinny legs!

A. I am really loving some of the trends with boots right now (hopefully they fall under the category that you're looking for)! The boots that I've been looking at are more tight fitted and have more of the fake leather look. For example...

Need necktie color/style suggestions for a fashionable young man?

Q. The fashionable young man is me by the way. :)

I'm 21, and my brother is getting confirmed catholic this weekend and I'm his mentor.

What I plan to wear: so far:

Black two-button Calvin Klein tailored slim suit
White Calvin Klein dress shirt with cufflinks
black shoes, black belt, blah blah

anyways, I like to look good, and I like to be fashionable and look trendy. I want a new tie to give my appearance that young fashionably fresh zing, does anyone have suggestions?

I was thinking a brighter color because its spring time, and maybe one of those thinner ties I keep seeing in magazines? They seem to be in style right now... Or anyone have suggestions for a different dress shirt? other than white, something that will work with my new black suit, i really like it and I havnt had a chance to wear this one yet.

ladies I would love your opinions as well, maybe i'll even find a cute girl there to impress. :)

thanks everyone, 10 pts to the most helpful and best idea

A. Yes, I am a lady :D

In red. Once again, view larger image.

Hope you like it. Try it on! I think it will look really nice. And it also has some hints of color but it is not overdone.

Why is the tattoo'd unkempt prison look so trendy?

Q. If current fashion were a class war, it's pretty apparent who is winning... Why is this? Lately, I see so many classy, attractive women with guys that look like they couldn't find their way out of a cardboard box... It's disturbing. It seems very primal - painfully barbaric... What happened to appreciating guys that dare to dream - guys that want to do something with their lives - guys that are educated, etc... You could say that I'm rushing to conclusions by judging people on outside appearances - but the way you choose to dress and act says a lot about who you are... I can't think of a single person who had a tattoo when I was in high school - now it seems like everyone has at least one...
It's not just tattoos - it's the whole baggy pants, spiked this and that, tattoo'd that, etc. It's a bit overwhelming after a while...

A. I understand and sympathize with your frustration. Be patient; smart women know the value of a man with class, intelligence, and ambition, and by their early twenties, when women start looking around for a man to be their life partner and father their children, they're usually really not interested in the "bad boy" look.

However, to answer the bigger question, the elite have always turned to the underclass for fashion guidance. In ancient Rome, the Empress Messalina thought it was amusing to dress up like a prostitute. (By law, prostitutes had to wear blonde wigs; it was a way of forcing them to identify themselves as not respectable.)

The super-wealthy of France in the time of Queen Marie Antoinette thought it was clever to dress like poor peasant women (in very fancy versions of peasant clothing) and go off and have picnics in the fields.

In the U.S., fashion in music, slang, and clothing has always taken inspiration from the underclass (the "criminal" class, the very poor, or oppressed racial & ethnic minorities) because the fashions of these groups have always been seen as "edgy" -- novel, new, exciting, different. For instance, black jazz was popularized by whites who felt they were being very daring by visiting black clubs.

All this edginess, newness, and daring-ness eventually adds up to being fashionable or even glamorous. The same thing happened when Elvis dared to adopt black performance style in his singing (in his dancing and some of his phrasing).

The "bad boy" look has always been exciting, and the movies (see James Dean or Marlon Brando) and later, TV, really promoted this. American culture loves the idea of the wild guy, the loner, the rule-breaker (see any Bruce Willis movie).

So, today's gangsta fashions are just an extension of that. Once, just wearing jeans meant you were a "bad boy," an admirabe rebel (or it meant you were dirt-poor and couldn't afford anything else). Now, people mimic the prison look: clothes which don't fit, shoes with the laces missing.

Tattoos are another story. There are a million reasons for people to get tattoos: to bond during military service or sports, for religious or cultural reasons, and so on. However, the fashion of covering yourself with tattoos in OUR time seems to me to be based on a couple of trends:
-- looking like you're jailin' -- that is, that you're such a bad bad boy you've been to prison
-- in women, rebelling a little against old standards of beauty. Supermodels, who have NO independence about how they dare to look, started the trend by getting ankle tattoos about fifteen or twenty years ago. Women from economic classes that traditionally did not get tattoos took this as permission, and got tattoos to show that they have a wild side
-- a strong rejection of mainstream values by Generation X and the generation since them; a way of rebelling against the mainstream Republican-and-Religion conservative style being enforced by the elite from about 1985 on up to the present.
-- peer pressure

You said, "the way you choose to dress and act says a lot about who you are... " -- yes, you're right, but sometimes, all it says is, "I haven't grown up yet and I'm desperate to look like all the cool kids my age and NOT look like my parents."

It might get you punched out, but aren't you ever tempted to say to one of these mismatched couples, "Hey, guy, she looks like a million bucks and you look like last week's laundry. Couldn't you dress up for her just a little? You look like her lawn man, not her date." Woo-hoo!! :)

Help please?

Fall:
Haha! the Fall runways shows came out a few days ago but here is just the general gist of it:

70s fashion
Like the '50s and '60s coming back, so are the '70s! There are two main aesthetics: '70s bohemian, and '70s sophisticated glamour. This includes dresses that fall like shimmering water in the evening and high-waist pants with elegant blouses by day! High waisted wide-leg pants or flares, smartly belted in.Neat bow-blouses, especially ones with billowing or bishop sleeves. Particularly great are fabrics like silk and satin.Roll neck sweaters tucked into pants or skirts. Also layering over beaded necklaces or a vest!

Pleats- Popular in spring and also for fall! However, then pleats will be worn paired socks or tights and heels, and some cosy layers on top. A rock-chic pair of boots, mixed styles for contrasts (like flowly pleated skirts with a bohemian fur or a tough biker jacket), etc....

Fur Clothing- as always...
Bell Bottoms- aka Flare jeans
Wide Leg Pants

Accessories:
Leather-ware harness
Choker necklaces
Cuff bracelets!
Studs

Colors: This year fall is slightly different! Bright colors are also going to be trendy with fall!
Black
Olive
Bronze shades?
Midnight blue, silver, and gray shades
Forest green and plum

Oh! and I think that the popular tribal print will be slightly reinvented as a trend for Autumn too!
Uhh Feather, Tribal, Army green will be popular in both seasons!

Dress nonchalantly. Don't overdo it or under do it by wearing sweats. I think the 2nd and 3rd days are the days you should wear you cute new stuff :D. Be different!
Oh! I was going to add... you should also buy cute jackets like white jean jacket, cropped jean jacket, etc over dresses (very cute) or tanks that don't meet dresscode and Miss me jeans, uggs, Juicy couture, Pink hoodies, Coach bags are also popular

What are some things that are considered fashionable or trendy by alot of people that you can't stand?

Q. -fake nails
-those purses that look really expensive or either are really expensive, or just purses period
-high heels / wedge heels
-anything that stereotypes women like the above
-beanies
-harem pants
-red lipstick, all lipstick really, and plastic fake looking stuff on the lips such as greasy nasty lip glosses
-lingerie
-most of the stuff at Wetseal and Charlotte Russe
-Matching everything, like when people match their shoes with their purse etc
-Wearing stuff just to look pretty and neglecting to be different looking or interesting, or to make any kind of important statement.

not to offend anyone, but don't like those, curious to know what you don't like?

A. people that wear expensive looking clothes then wear like cheapy stuff the next (not really a fashion thingy but whatever)
fake nails also
fake eyelashes
not high heels or wedges but the crazy extremely high weird looking ones
extremely short shorts
wearing only one earring

ruffle sleeves that look like shoulder pads
heels/wedges that are only 1" or less
shirts that say dont be jealous that i can dance etc etc
wearing "classy" shirts with baggy/pj pants
lingerie too
stuff at tillys
and ya

these are MY OPINIONS NOT YOURS!!!! i do not mean to offend anyone, if i did im sorry..these are my opinions..

Please help fashion crisis!!:|?
Q. Alright this might be a little long but please bare with me and I'll try to sum it up at fast and as best as I can.
So first off I need a outfit check. My friends and I are going shopping tomorrow evening and I'm wearing a high wasted black pencil skirt with a striped yellow and grey shirt tucked in; the skirt goes a little above my knee. My first question is what shoes would look best with that outfit and what accessories? My second question is should I wear like black tights with it or no( I wasn't planning to but it rains 360 days out of the year where I live). And if you have hair suggestions that would be helpful too. I have long super curly red hair.

Next thing: this year I am going to be a sophomore and I'm going to a new school but I know only a few people there and I want to really wow them and make my next 3 years as a highschooler a good one. My parents are very successful in their businesses and get paid a very large amount but don't indulge their payments in things like cars, phones, clothing, stuff like that. My parents focus pretty much entirely on education. Which is fine with me but I have no money to buy cloths and they won't give me any. I'm starting to work soon and my goal is to get to $600 and go on a big back to school shopping spree. I HATE spending tons of money and not being satisfied with what I got. I usually shop all over but everything is sooo expensive and I don't really find what I want. Can someone help me on outfit ideas or just something to spark my imagination? Send me links or pictures of cute outfits. My style is pretty and girly but I'm an big athlet too so I have lots of sweatshirts. I want to be pushed out of my confert zone into like modern hippy and vintage with like some rock in it.... if that made any sence at all. So yeah help:)

Thank you guys soooooooo much for reading this it means a lot!!!:) 10 points to the best answer and my forever love:)

A. A MODern, semi-hippie/semi-athelete, college co-ed with long,. curly red hair can be pulled together and give an awesome impression to others..by eliminating anything trendy and focusing on basics.

Stepping out of one's comfort zone is important..especially with clothing/style options because it's remarkable how one is perceived when they alter the way they dress. It really does 'make the man' (or woman).

Example:
Let's say one dressed in faded jeans and t-shirts all the time. I can see why they would wonder about changing their look and style, especially when they're about to start college. An easy, do-able transition may be simple, cotton basics. A little more preppy vs hippie. (I like 'hippie', though).

Always check out outlet stores, outlet malls, and stores that offer name brand separates at much lower than dept. store prices. Dept. stores and trendy retail stores ARE too expensive. That's why smart consumers cut the costs by saving where they can.

Buying bulk packages of 100% cotton tanks, short and long sleeved cotton shirts, (even men's tanks) cost much less, and are virtually interchangeable with most things. Plain, cotton, solid color (black is a must) leggings are standard. A track suit (cotton), (navy, black or khaki colors), with a pair of track shoes easy.

-3 pair of flat-front, cotton, slim, (but not tight) low-rise pants. (black, khaki and navy)
-3 long sleeved cotton tops (black, khaki and navy)
-12-pack of cotton, ribbed tanks (black white and navy)
-2 cotton, cardigans (navy and black)
-2 longer flat-front cotton skirts (black and navy)
-2 over-sized, cotton, button-down, long-sleeved shirts (white and black)
-black and navy long-sleeved turtlenecks
-1 cute (black or navy) beret
- pair of really cute loafers
-black and navy leggings
=
100's of various combinations that can all be intermixed and easily mixed and matched.

black pants + black t-shirt + white cotton shirt tied at the waist.
khakis + navy t-shirt + navy cardigan
navy skirt + white shirt + navy cardigan
black pants + black tank + black cardigan
khaki skirt + navy tank + white cotton shirt and navy cardigan tied at the waist

Getting (or crocheting) one, long, cool-looking scarf in a bright, awesome color (like olive or bright red)..or one, bright red, over-sized sweater can be thrown on, over the top of every single combination and you'll appear to be really stylish, and so put together. Stick to monocromatic solid colors and neutrals = always appropriate. This style of dressing is known as the "French" style. It's effortless, and non-trendy = classic.

Basics always look pulled together and clean. Target, Gap, Old Navy, H & M are great for basics. Kmart, Walmart-type stores that sell packs of tanks and t-shirts = the best. Mix and match and don't allow yourself to buy anything trendy.

Interchangeable Clothes-Basic Starter wardrobe
http://www.define-your-style-clothes-magic.com/basic-mix-and-match-starter-wardrobe.html

Avoid anything trendy. Trendy isn't college attending, together, young female.
Trendy = tween/teen.
Bubblegum pink baby doll dresses, neon colors, logos = everyone would notice when/if you wore it again. Not practical. The trendier one dresses, the more they have to buy. Mainly because trendy items don't mix well with standard basics. They're out of style practically the day they're purchased. Neon purple is only a "hit" for a couple of weeks and then it's a "miss".

Standard basics can be purchased at outlet stores, Target (really cute stuff), or even local thrift stores have basics. Who cares if they were 'previously worn'..if they're cute, basic, and fit well.

When one dresses with clean, "preppy", mix and match basics, the impression is that person is together. She's organized, she's smart, she's not trendy, she's not misguided, she's not immature, she's not driven by knee-jerk decisions = all good.

What shoes with this dress?

Q. Wedges, heels, etc..? Pictures would be helpful.

Dress-http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/Dresses/Sundresses/entity/pc/3021/c/0/sc/3075/234823.uts?colorCode=301444627_970

This is for Junior High graduation, so the heels can't be too high.

Thanks :)

A. Oooo I've seen this dress has been very trendy lately. I do suggest blue wedges that has few similar colors according to your dress:

Another thing I would recommend is flats that possibly can make your legs shine:

Junior year first day of school outfit?
Q. School tomorrow. As much as id like to wear a sweatshirt and sport shorts, i want to look decent butttt i need help. Im not the type to dress up or wear accessories, like i said before id love to wear a sweatshirt and shorts. I have medium long dark brown hair and im on the pale side, j suppose.
If you help thank you :)

A. Hey(: I totally understand what you mean by wanting to go casual with a sweatshirt and some shorts. Haha, we all want that. But I also appreciate and encourage dressing up a little and even going a little out of your comfort zone for the first day back. You're in your junior year so you only have this year and next year to make some memories so you have to go a little bolder than usual sometimes. (: I think you have a very relaxed style and that's always really cool to work with because you don't want anything too overdone. I'd suggest going with something as simple as maybe some leggings and a tee. Don't be afraid to wear a simple and cute hoodie/sweatshirt with the tee too. Or you could go with something like a jean vest or jacket, if you wanted to push the limit a little further. For shoes, I'd suggest going with what makes you comfortable and what matches. Some cute combat boots would be really stylish and look cute but it's a little last notice to go out and buy anything, so I'd suggest some sneakers (canvas sneakers are trendy and cute) or some flats, if you have any. (: I'll post some links below to show you a little of what I mean and maybe to inspire your outfit for tomorrow. (:

Jean jacket:
http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=451&subCategoryId=1472&productId=68245

That denim jacket is super cute, trendy, and relaxed. It's really fun and if have anything like it, I'd definitely suggest it to give off that cute, but casual vibe.

Leggings:
http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=102&subCategoryId=121&productId=69272

These are super cute and the Aztec/tribal print is really in right now. (: Any kind of printed leggings would work though! They're really trendy and fun(:

Canvas sneakers:
http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=109&subCategoryId=1564&productId=68296

They may be a little much for your taste, but the style is really cute. (: Keds are the main-brand ones that I recommend. Simple white or black ones are very versatile and also really comfortable. (:

Combat boots:
http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=109&productId=68437&color=BROWN

Really, really cute! I've recommended these many times before and I absolutely love them. (: If you have a pair, that's what I would wear!

Tee/top:
http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=101&subCategoryId=1411&productId=68946

Something fun and simple would be the best choice for you. (: Paired with a cute zip-up hoodie, you'd be comfortable and look very cute. (: I really hope I helped and have fun on the first day of school!(: Make it count!

Where can a woman with size 12 WIDE feet find a variety of quality, trendy, comfortable selection of shoes??

Q. I've got big feet... I hate "Coward" and catalogs like it that have a large variety of what I term "old lady shoes". I wear a size 12 wide. Just to give you an idea of what I like - I love my dansko clogs (mens) and birkenstock sandals, but I want something more slighty feminine. I wish I could wear Sketchers...but they're too small. <sigh>

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help!

Are Adidas Samba ...Girl or Guy shoes??
Q. I'm not a big fan of unisex anything, I was thinking of possibly buying a pair of these shoes if there not too girly. What does everyone think???

A. I remember having a pair of black with white stripe Adidas samba shoes about 10 years ago, and if I remember correctly, they were indoor athletic shoes - and the pair I had were guy's shoes. Now - that doesn't mean that Adidas hasn't branched out with this model...

A quick stop over at Adidas' website and searching for Samba quickly reveals that this is a men's athletic indoor shoe with some junior/kid models also available. The only women's clothing labeled with 'Samba' are a pair of tights and training paints.

See for yourself:
http://www.shopadidas.com/searchHandler/index.jsp?searchId=18220091683&view=all&keywords=samba

I personally loved the Samba shoe (classic white on black) when I had them because they fit really well when I was running. Your question causes me to long for a new pair so I can start getting fit again.

My friend who got me hooked on these shoes was a pretty athletic guy who played soccer. These shoes are durable and light weight. They aren't flashy or full of stuffing like many of today's $$$ basketball shoes. They are good looking and extremely practical. It's alot like wearing a lightweight slipper or glove over your foot ... not some heavy boot with stuffing that's going to weigh 5 lbs after it gets wet.

However, your question causes me to wonder if you put too much value on what people think about you because of the shoes you wear. I think that's a little shallow - however - I'm way past my teenage years, and have gotten over most of that traumatic teen peer-pressure business. I might be able understand why you might be a little self-conscious wearing these because these aren't 'trendy', however I'm more interested in fit and function than fashion.

If you want a comfortable athletic shoe - and if you can find a pair of Sambas that fit you just right - I wouldn't hesitate to buy them.

comfortable dress shoes?

Q. I am an interior design intern (still two more years to graduation), and was wondering what your most comfortable dress shoes are. I've been wearing flats, and they're SO flat that the bottoms of my feet are bruised. The fabric on the cheaper shoes also irritated the bottoms of my feet. =(

I dressed up at a previous job, and any dress shoes were fine because I sat down all day, but at this job I am on my feet 90% of the day. And I wait tables at night, so I'm on my feet then too. I have great serving shoes, but I have to dress up at the internship.

These women (and men) are extremely well dressed. I absolutely cannot look out of date or not stylish. I did buy two pairs today, one was the brand Bare Traps, and the others are Nurture by Dillard's. I don't care how expensive, I just need stylish classy dressy shoes that aren't going to kill my feet. I tried on Naturalizers and they hurt. It's like I'm running a marathon, I need them to be as comfortable as the tennis shoes I'm not allowed to wear.

Is this possible?? The two pairs I got are pretty amazing. The Bare Traps are brown sandals with thick cushy soles. The Nurture are black 2 1/2" pumps. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Save my feet AND my wardrobe!!!

A. I would suggest purchasing some Dr. Scholl's shoes. They're very trendy and professional but they keep you comfortable:

http://www.drschollsshoes.com/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?p=EC1107893&pg=5012872

However, if you just want regular shoes, I would suggest investing in one pair of loafers (wedge or flat), one pair of close-toe pumps and one pair of peep-toe sandals. This basic variety of shoes is perfect for transitioning from waiting tables to your internship. If you still find them uncomfortable, simply use Dr. Scholl's inserts for better cushioning and arch support:

What are the top 5 trendiest, most popular shoes for young women at the moment? Both brands and styles please.
Q. And pics if you have any. Thanks!

A. Pointed toe stilettos are making a comeback, from the rounded toes of seasons before. Also, pointed heels. Platforms are still trendy, but not platform wedge. Gladiator anything is getting big. Ballet flats are always trendy.

What sneakers/casual shoes are trendy right now for young women?

Q. Hi, I'm 20 and I'm looking for some sneakers or casual shoes that are somewhat like sneakers. I plan on wearing them a lot during the fall season. I want to a buy a few pairs. So my question is, what brand or style is hot right now for fall 2007? I know boots and other classy style are in but I'm looking for somewhat comfortable casual sneakers. I hope sneakers is the right word for my question. My definition of a sneaker in this case is a shoe that resembles workout/sports attire but can be worn outside the gym. If any girls out there have some advice, please feel free to comment. :)

Any good stores to buy cute/cheap clothes for back to school? (Girls; Austin, Tx; Sophomore 2012-2013)?

Q. My freshman year wardrobe was just horrible! I basically rocked the homeless look all year long!! -.-
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where I can buy back to school clothes for a pretty cheap price, since I'm about to start my sophomore year. My mom's a single mom of 4 and I really hate making her spend lots of money. I'm 15, so I can't work yet, which doesn't help the money situation. I live in Austin, Tx. if that helps.
Honestly, I'm open to any suggestions on what clothes to buy bc I just buy what ever, but I want to make my wardrobe better/cuter. What kinda tops/bottoms/shoes should I get? What clothes should I buy that I'll be able to dress up or down with? I want to stop buying clothes that I can only wear for certain occasions or that I'll only wear once or twice a year.
I wanna buy clothes that's for fall, winter, & spring. Any suggestions?
Sorry for all the questions, it's just that I suck when it comes to being in style! What kind of shoes should I buy that'll match with everything? Lazy days & dressed up days. Every year I buy shoes that I can only wear with certain outfits & I find myself dressing horribly bc of that! >.<

Once again, sorry for all the questions, but I'd appreciate it if y'all helped me be in style for my sophomore year! I'm trying to not exceed $100, but I guess I can work with what I get, since everything's so pricy now-a-days! Thanks so much for your time and help! :)

Links to cheap, cute outfits is much appreciated as well as stores in the Austin or surrounding area! :D

Side note: Usually the styles I'm into are girly and/or floral, but then again I love the country style. I have cowgirl boots, so any outfits that'll go with them & any other shoes would be great! :D
One more thing, please keep in mind that I'm kinda chubby, so I'd appreciate suggestions of clothes that'll actually look good & not make me look even more fat. lol

A. i am a mother of a girl exactly your age who is also starting her soph year. unfortunately, unlike you she doesn't care how much her single mother spends. lucky for you i am both thrifty and fashion forward. i suggest you go to your local thrift stores and spend the bulk of your money there.
you need to have at least one perfect pair of jeans but two is better(skinny and boot cut). if you are a little chubby, stay away from super low or even low cut waists-they will create that dreaded muffin top and it's never attractive.
you also need a good coat that looks cute and keeps you warm. i say look for something that is unusual, funky, different but fits well and is comfy to wear. it will express personality and help u stand out. but be careful it isn't too out there! that could bring u the wrong attention.
get urself a pair of converse in a bright color that compliments the color of the jacket and the tops u get. think contrast. if ur a girly girl, baby pink is great with most everything u might wear.
make sure u have enuf tops and bottoms to dress for a week(bare minimum) without repeating anything except shoes and jacket. on a budget like urs that is do-able, and u should continue to add pieces whenever u can so u have more options. make sure everything u buy fits u right! that is, not too tight(hoping u will fit it soon) or too loose. try lots on to find what works (style/size) and stick with it.
another thing, look for the best quality items so they will last longer and look better. express ur personality but it's best to stay away from super trendy things or too extreme cuz they won't last long into the new school year. remember everyone is figuring out who they are/want to be just like you so be confident and focus on ur goals. that is the best way to look great all year long!!
i hope this helps u. let me know if u want more info or if u have any questions. have a great year!!

how much do you spend on new school clothes?
Q. and about how many outfits do you get. I use to get 5-6 new outfits. then my mom started giving me 500 dollars to get everything I needed for school (clothes, shoes, supplies backpack) im in high school btw going to be a junior this year.

and can you help me come up with some cute trendy outfits? post pictures if you can maybe.

A. I personally prefer to "shop in my closet" which means that I buy new clothes based on what I already have rather than spending X amount of outfit before school start.

First organize and declutter my wardrobe and throw out and donate anything that doesnt suit my personal style or my figure, repair or tailor things that can be repaired such as loose buttons (I can't sew so i ask friends who can or you can go to a tailored to professionally repair/tailor your clothes).

With the remaining clothes, I sort them first by season (move back the off-season clothes somewhere else, in a plastic box underneath the bed or in the corner of the closet/drawers) and then sort the current season clothes by clothing type (skirts, shorts, jeans, pants, casual tops, dressy tops, casual sweaters like hoodies and jumpers, cardigans, blazers/short jackets, flats, heels, casual shoes boots and so on)
and then again by color (neutrals next to each other and then going for the pink-red-purple-blue-green-yellow-orange "color theory pattern).
This help you to see what you already have.
http://www.learnvest.com/2012/04/9-easy-tricks-to-maximize-your-wardrobe/

I would first check if Ive enough basic staples such as solid neutral tank/camisoles, t-shirts, solid neutral pants/jeans/shorts/skirts (whatever you wear most), cardigans/hoodies and eventually blazer and see if I need any new good everyday shoes.
Everyday clothes and shoes first in basic neutral styles,

THEN slowly add fun, trendy or evening pieces, making sure that they can already be worn with something you already own. Lets say you want to get a flannel button down (casual fall staple for some people), make sure you have either buttoms, tops or accessories in the color of the prints before buy it (or buy it while buying the shirt).

What clothes and shoes depends on person to person. What a 16 years old girl would wear, a 20-25 years old wardrobe would very different.

Im 24 and prefer more professional clothes and shoes for my basic pieces like low heel leather pumps, riding boots, ballet flats, loafers/oxfords, blazers, button down shirts, pencil skirts, pantyhose, pearls kind of things and then dress them up (with nice jewelery and dress shoes or a sparkly top or skirt) for evening and dress them down for more casual wear, like a blazer with casual jeans and flats or a pencil skirt with tall boots and a button-down shirt and cardigan. This is my personal wardrobe staples.

I don't care about much outfits I need, I just gradually update my wardrobe by buying a couple of remixable pieces each month that goes with my basic staples! I usually buy at h&m and leredoute + deichmann, vagabond and eccoshop for shoes/boots. :3

Sorry for long answer, but I hope it sparked some ideas..

Fall 2012-2013 Fashion Trend for middle school?

Q. Ive always been a dork all my life wearing ugly clothes till about 6th grade (still pretty dorky) 7th grade i caught on to the fashion trends at my school but it took some time. Now that im entering 8th grade i kinda of want to be stocked up on the seasons fashion trends. So does anyone know what it will be this fall?
last school year were:
- tribal print
- toms
- VS yoga pants
- Uggs
- Pencil Skirts
- Hollister
- Abercrombie
- Aero
- Flowy shirts
Thats about it oh and vans and converse shoes. So pleade tell me what vlothing i should buy for this fall? :) Thank you

A. I work at hollister and our back-to-school clothes aren't even for sale yet! They go out on Saturday. So it's hard to tell yet. I would say skinny jeans/jeggings in bright colors (trendy) but dark wash is always good and easier to pull off (classic, can wear forever) because I know that the dark wash jeans and bright jeans are going to be sold for back-to-school but my manager didn't tell us anything else =\ so it's hard to say on tops yet.

My advice is to not "stock up" at the beginning of the year. Trends will change once winter starts and then once spring begins. You'll want to save some shopping money for then too!

But fitted scoop neck t-shirts in solid colors are always in-style. Also, a cami with a cardigan or hoodie is a classic in-style look. If you shop at hollister, aero, american eagle, and pacsun you'll be "in style" and you can pick whatever is there that you like and that looks good on you! :) shopping at forever 21 is cheaper but I find that their shirts fall apart really easily and there are some reallyyyy funky things there that are weird, and if you don't have a good sense of what is "in" then shopping there could make you end up with an odd closet haha.
I wish I had more of an answer but I won't know the looks for fall until Saturday, at hollister at least (and they're always "up" on the trends I've noticed since I started working there).

For the summer, though, neon and bright colored shorts are really popular. Also, loose fitting shirts that are off the shoulder are instyle. Flowy, girly tank tops are always cute. There are lots of shirts with lace and ruffles as well.

To address the list you gave: Tribal prints I'm just not a fan off. I hope they're on their way out of style. Uggs have been getting really old lately, but Sperry's were super popular the last 2 years for preppy girls, they'll probably still be in. Yoga pants will always be in. Flowy shirts are in right now. Hco, Abercrombie, A&F will always be instyle, American Eagle will be too. Aero usually is but I don't shop there.

Best Wishes,
Tiffany

PS: Ask again in late July or early August and there will be more reliable answers. Trends can change quickly and back to school will have different looks than this summer's.
PPS: there's nothing wrong with having your own style!! But it's very normal to want to know what is in style, sorry I can't be of more help. Oh and don't listen to Seventeen magazine's advice. They have some good advice but when I used to read the magazine a lot of their outfits weren't good, they were really ugly. But they do mention some good stores you can look at!

Trendy on one income....is it possible?

Q. I'm 24, a stay-at-home army wife and mom, and I feel like I'm 50 years old. I used to have the passion for being stylish, keeping my hair, make up, and nails done, and feeling good about myself. I got married almost 3 years ago, and became a stay at home mom. We have one income and we're working on paying off a few things within the next few months. I very grateful for everything I have, but I have only 4 decent outfits to wear. the rest of my clothes are lounge wear that i wouldn't dare wear outside. Most of my clothes I've had since my junior year of high school, needless to say I was made fun of. I'm in school right now and I've been putting out resumes and applications, but my hubby wants me to just focus on school. We're not poor, it's just that I just want to be able to look and feel good sometimes. I can't even find clothes in the thrift store. Can someone please tell me how to dress nice on a tight budget?
I live in Fort Polk, LA....equivalent to the boondocks lol!

A. Since you have internet access, I suggest shopping on line. Old Navy and Target are excellent sources for basics and trendy items. Plus they regularly have sales on clothes that are in season.

I am a full time grad student, teacher and mom, but I like to dress by mixing trendy and conservative.

One way to do this is to get 4 or 5 basic slacks- jeans (dark denim and well fitting can double as dressy) black slacks, 2 pair of khakis (chinos- 1 dark brown and 1 light brown) and navy slacks

These can be paired with a variety of colorful stylish tops, and matched up with low priced accessories from stores like icing/Claires or Burlington, or even the thrift store.

Or you can go classic with jewelry and stick to one jewel tone such as silver or gold

Finally, believe it or not, Payless Shoe Stores actually have cute shoes that are affordable, which is a good idea for summer, since you only wear sandals 3-4 months out of the year.

Most beauty sites will give you instructions on how to do manicures/pedicures/basic hair care at home. Just buy some pampering and self care products and learn how to DIY at home.

If you are not comfortable doing it at home, go to any local beauty school and the students there do all of these services for very low prices.

Good sandals to wear Spring 2011?

Q. Okay, well, to start, I'm a teen girl (high school). Also, I'm VERY self-concious about the way my feet (mostly toes) look. They're not exactly pretty... at all! haha.... So, what are some good sandals to wear in Spring/Summer 2011 that either don't show the toes or would make me feel better about my feet... thanks! :)

A. I'm self conscious about my feet too! Want to know what's really trendy for the Spring/Summer 2011 shoe season? The Sperrys Top Siders! They are so so comfortable- I have two pairs! They look good with dresses, shorts, you name it and the great thing is that there are so many various styles that they can literally look amazing with anything. If you're really self conscious about your feet like I am, these are great because their an actual shoe, and they are literally like walking on clouds. The "break in" process took literally a day!

2011 back to school fashion?
Q. i was wondering what are the musts for back to school, im going in to 8th grade?? like what is the big thing this year?? and when i go back to school shopping what should i get?? okk thanks!

A. I'm going to 8th too! *High Fives* :)

Must haves:

Jeans- (2-3), in a style you like. Skinny jeans are trendy, but bootcuts are making a comeback.

Shorts- (2-3), for summer. Mix up the types of fabric, like don't stick with denim. Bright colors are really in, so I suggest getting maybe 2 pairs in a cool color like yellow/red. You can wear these with a plain, tucked in top with a skinny belt. Super cute!

Skirts- (2), go for ruffles and florals, kinda like what I said about the shorts.

Cardigans- (2-3), go for a plain white/black/grey one that you can wear with anything, then 1-2 in a fun bright color! Cardigans can dress up and down outfits, and are a nice touch to just about any outfit.

Tops- (Go crazy). You can never have enough! Don't forget the basic camis. Lace, ruffles, crop tops, and florals are really in right now. Also, to go with the trendy bohemian look, try flowy tops with a cool cut. Off the shoulder tops are also cute, especially when they're cropped.

Trends this year:

Color blocking: This is when you use a bright color to spruce up an outfit, for example wearing a bright red shoe with a plain black outfit. Fun colors are awesome, don't be afraid of them though!

Bohemian: Braids, florals, drapery, you know it.

Tribal: Tribal prints are really big, as well as feathers- as earrings, in your hair, etc.

Check out stores like Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. They have super trendy clothing, for pretty good prices.

Hope this helped!

Reliable fashions for real women?

Q. I would like to see fashions I can actually wear. Can you recommend a catalog or fashion magazine that have real-world fashions for real women? I'm not a size 2, I don't live in Manhattan and I don't spend $500 on a pair of stilettos. I need wearable fashions. I'd really appreciate some advice on good catalogs to shop or magazines to read.
For price range, something that's more Macy's and less Neiman Marcus.

Oh, and I'm also not a teenager.

A. Um. I dress fly and don't spend a arm and a leg. Might I suggest that u decide to apend a little more on things that u know u will treasure. So 9 times out of 10 u don't want to drop your rent on a pair of trendy, in for the moment shoes. DSW always has hot shoes for a decent price. I can't lie tho, Payless has stepped their game up. Chernin's is really, really resonable and u can try Manic. I don't know if ur a big grl or like a size 7...so I will agree with the person who said Target, but in my area Target is high as hell. I get my undies from Walmart. Loving the boy shorts and bras by hanes and fruit of the loom. I will hit Rainbows, sometimes Wet Seal, Rave, and Charolette Rousse (4give the spelln). For accessories that u don't want to spend much on, Claire's. Icing is starting to get WAY out of hand on the pricing. For jeans try Ecko Red. Not expensive and I don't have to replace the ones I have but they do so well. I am super hard on jeans. Cheap ones end up losing their tightness, and color. But Ecko is affordable and the dryer makes them fit just like the day u bought them. Plus they have the best cuts for anyone who has a lil junk in the trunk, but ya wanna make it look...yummy. My sugesstion, get from behing the computer and get out there and hit the malls to find really what works for you. Shopping is godd for your health. Its a workout for your body, get your brain going and shop.
