Tip for trendy shoes... ?

Q. I wears converses all time and I wants a different style of shoe.. I'm sixteen and is there any good stylish walking shoes for me? I'm from Canada. Don't give out some American stores that aren't in Canada.
Thanks!

A. Brand NameUGG Boots
OriginalAustralia
MaterialsSheepskin
UGG advantage: versatility, super warm, comfortable, cute
UGG disadvantage: heavy, wearing them will make you seems stubborn
For what people: women, men, old, young all people
What to wear with: jeans, legging, trench and so on.
Shopping guide: http://www.hotuggbootsonline.com

what are some cute & trendy shoes that you really like?
Q. I'm looking to ask for a closed toe shoe for christmas, that are NOT sneakers, is there any particular pair of shoes that you are wearing right now (and that you really like?). thanks so much for your help! I'd like something other than uggs. I'm 5' 4" and about 80 lbs, and uggs do not look good on my skinny legs!

A. I am really loving some of the trends with boots right now (hopefully they fall under the category that you're looking for)! The boots that I've been looking at are more tight fitted and have more of the fake leather look. For example...

Can someone please help me with an outfit?

Q. Hi! i am going to a college for a field trip and i want to look pretty on that field trip idk why but can someone help me?

A. You can look pretty but field tripos and college are usually more casual so reserve anything fancy like heels or dressy dresses for dates, evening outs and parties.

What kind of outfits really depends on your style though but here are some ideas:

A common outfit - casual by stylish:
# Skinny/Straight jeans tucked into tall boots (or ankle booties) worn a loose tunic top or button-up & cardigan/blazer/bomber jacket with minimal accessories like stud earrings & a bracelet

Feminine but casual Outfit
# Dress down a flowy skirt with opaque tights, add dolly flats (or something similare) and a nice t-shirt or knit top. Throw on a cardigan/bomber jacket or cardigan.

If you prefer going more casual like hoodies.
# Wear the hoodie a casual but pretty top (e.g. a jersey wrap top or white cotton collar blouse) and nice jeans or slacks with ballerina flats
http://img2.etsystatic.com/000/0/5271781/il_fullxfull.260125282.jpg
# Wear your favorite sneakers with cuffed shorts shorts, add tights if its still chilly outside and a nice top with cardigan/blazer or bomber jacket.
http://images3.chictopia.com/photos/ellabella/5403104698/brown-sweater-blue-shorts-gray-pour-la-victoire-shoes-black-dkny-tights.jpg
# Look girly in a basic t-shirt with a trendy skirt, (tights), blazer/cardigan & flats or boots (ankle booties with short skirt, tall boots with any skirt).
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u9jH4TzRdRU/Tx4QtkjK7aI/AAAAAAAAD9c/hLwY0-PeFS0/s1600/DSC_0050.JPG
# or A nice long top/tunic (upper thigh) with leggings/jeggings & flats or boots + a jacket
http://lipshipsandfashiontips.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/leggings-2.jpg

For a more proffessional look which I personally wear are wearing the clothes women wear to office (either casual or formal ones) seperatly and dress them down.
# Darkwash Jeans with a Blouse/Knit top or Button up, Blazer & Flats
http://images3.chictopia.com/photos/mowmigaba/4830490344/black-h-m-shoes-red-sheinside-jacket-black-etorba-bag.jpg
# Knee lenght pencil skirt with tights & flat tall boots and a button up with a cardigan or leather jacket
# Sheath or Any not-to-fancy Dress with tights, Cardigan & Flats.
http://www.glamcheck.com/archive/images/stories/stories/fashion-tips/CLOTHING-GUIDE/Dresses-for-Women/Dresses-for-Women-Sheath-Dress/Dresses-for-Women-Sheath-Dress-Silhouette.jpg

Phew, I could rabble on outfit ideas forever but I hope these outfits will spark some ideas.
Most of outfits are low-key but nor too casual but not dressy at the same time. Some of the outfits has a tailored proffessional vibe but they are not too much for college. The only bad things to some people is that you can come off mature which can be either a bad or good thing depending on your perspective. If you dont have any problem with a lady-like classy look then none of the outfits would be bad!
I wear to a school similare to college and these are things I wear.

Anyway, hope it helped!

What shoes should i get?

Q. I need to get new shoes for summer as they've all out grown me and i have no new ones. My mom said she would bring me to the mall tomorrow to get a new pair, but the problem is i don't know what i want and i dont want to go without anything in mind. So i want to know what's like in right now, trendy or just nice shoes for like teenage girls? Oh and i already have Vans and toms, so don't suggest those because i dont want them again.

A. Sperrys!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definatley get sperrys, theyre really cute boat shoes, they have tons of colors and patterns, they are totally trendy and chic!!!! They cost anywhere from like $65-$125, they are sold @ sperrytopsider.com, famous footwear, nordstrom, bloomingdales, and nordstroms.

Trendy/Vintage summer outfit for teens? ?
Q. I'm into the vintage and retro clothing; brogues, chinos etc.. Anything new?
Thanks! :)

A. Modcloth.com sells very vintage pieces, but if you go it can be quite overwhelming (and expensive.) I own 4 dresses from there and I love them. Here are some outfits I wear that I get told kind of give off a vintage feel.

High-Waisted Floral Shorts
A plain white tank top tucked in
Some vintage sunglasses (ex: wayfarers, aviators)
Gladiator Sandals

A very girly lacy dress (mine's white)
A Black Leather Jacket
"Grunge" Shoes (which basically are boots with a rougher edge to them)

Also, when I want to look very presentable I wear a black and white polka dotted blouse tucked into a pencil skirt.

Vintage trends this summer:
Florals
High-Waisted Shorts
Delicate lace
Wayfarers/Aviators (which have been popular 2 summers in a row)
Also the "Biker" look is in (leather, grunge shoes, crosses, pleather shorts)

The most common looks I see with a vinatge feel are these two;

A floral dress and a Jean Jacket (or those cotton jackets that look like jean material)

OR

Pleather shorts with a loose tank top with a cross tucked it. The most popular loose tank tops with crosses I see have some kind of leopard print on the cross.

Where can I get these shoes?

Q. I saw these shoes on Kylie Jenner and I was wondering if any of you guys know what they're called or where I can get them from? Not the heels but the ones on the bottom. I'm not sure if they're by a specific brand or what. Thanks in advance :)

How can you make a 16 year old boy look 12?

Q. I need to make my 16 year old male friend look much younger for a day (around about 12 years old) for a film we're doing for drama class. Any ideas how I can do this?
Oh, I forgot, he has quite long hair (5" long) which hes going to get cut short anyway, so he won't mind if i cut it into a different style

A. Pick a short guy, make him use a squeaky voice, put a wide brimmed baseball cap, like in the sandlot. If his skintone is uneven, put foundation on him. If he needs to shave, do it, no stubble. If you don't want a hat, a bowl cut will work, but that's going back to the 90s, kids do buzzcuts too. With a buzzcut, no product in the hair, kids usually look soft and fuzzy, not put together. If his eyes don't look extremely young, avoid the hair in the eyes because it'll draw attention to them.

Big, not huge like hiphop style, clothes so it looks like he's supposed to grow into them, preferably comic book characters like the hulk. Basketball shoes - high tops. Kids bop when they walk, not hiphop trendy bop, but happy little kid bop. Obvious heel-toe action on the feet. Have him watch kids at the zoo for a day or watch kid movies.

Its fine if all his clothes look new, it'll look like his mom dressed him. Break a leg!

how to be trendy/fashionable (for teen men) ?
Q. my sister's brother isn't a nerd or a jock, he's just a normal boy. he's pretty good looking, except he's a little on the heavy side. nothing too major though. he came to me and his sister because he knows we always look up to date in fashion because he wants to look more fashionable. any ideas ? stores ? websites that offer advice ? if you have a specific clothes item in mind, a link is very much appreciated. thanks lots.

A. Most of the guys I'm friends with
(I'm a girl BTW) like to wear:

- Volocom, Hurley, American Eagle
- Polos
- Loose skinny jeans
- Faux-hawks
- Knitted sweaters
- Nike & Jordan shoes
- Adidas
- Baggy hoodies
- Hollister

Hope that helps ;)

Starting clothing business.?

Q. hello everyone, please i would love to know places in the UK and America were I can get trendy cloths and shoes for young people and adult at wholesale prices?
and what are the pros and cons of starting a business like this?
thanks.

A. .. Ok..
Depends on your location first.. (High traffic location is a must for clothing business)..
what will be your specialty ?? adult / females/ males/ or everything ??.. it will cost you alot much if you get everything at once as a start.. and you would not have the nice variety for each devision you want ..
If you are looking to sell Adult and young people, clothes and Shoes.... you are looking for $70,000.00 at least to make a decent start, and decent startup push profit.. or customers base..

If you look for specialty first , as women clothes, or men, or kids, it would be better to concentrate and make good name for your start, with less money damage if it turns out to be something else. plus the rest of the other $75,000 you would save for back-up plan, advertisment, etc....

there is many places.. yet the quality, and the shipping prices will make the difference..

what you will need to think before start :-
1- Location, Location, Location.............. high traffic with $5,000.00 better than away location with $1,000.00 rent, etc...
2- what will be your basic main customers ?? Young adults?? teens ?? working women ?? etc.....
3- You look for everything to have at once is very bad for your budget, (Except if you have at least $150,000.00 ) yes i'm serious..
You can start small (Not actually small) with $30,000 and you specified only with women trendy clothes you will have a decent collection which can cover a store of (3000 feet / 1000 Meters)..

Yet there is plenty of other factors as well.. and there is seasonal items and clothes, etc......

Need any help, will be more than glad.. Actually we have now pallets of (100pcs- 500pcs each) at a decent prices, as we are wholesalers and stores.. and we need to rennovate our stock each campaign (2months)..

so contact me if you are interested and will send you some photo's and site access,,.. or if you only have additional questions..
Good luck, and have a great day ..

I am 26 year old female with a goody two shoes image...I want to change that to a wild and crazy, naughty girl
Q. image that guys like...I want suggestions...I know this will be hard and embarrassing for me to do, but I need to do it...I got to get out of myself...I am not same person inside as people see on the outside...What type of clothes should I wear, what type of cigarettes should I smoke...I am even willing to get a small tattoo...suggestions please.

A. Skip the cigarettes and tattoos. You shouldn't do either of those to impress guys, or change the way they see you. And honestly, a wild and crazy image will only get you the jerks looking for sex, not the ones worth having. In addition, you shouldn't do anything that will be hard or embarrassing.
That being said, you want to look like a mature, and sexy, woman. You aren't a teen or college student anymore, so you shouldn't dress like one. You also shouldn't dress older than what you are. You're at the perfect age for wearing the trendy, sexy clothing that you see in magazines, TV, and movies.
Working on how you feel about yourself on the inside can help you feel better about what's on the outside. So make sure you are doing any changes for you, not anyone else.
Learn how to flatter your figure, show off your best assets, and hide your flaws. Learn what colors look good on you, and which ones to avoid. Looking your best is always more appealing that looking like a sleeze from a bar. Most men I know prefer a well dressed women over a trampy one.

Also learn what makeup and hairstyles will flatter you. The better you look, the better you will feel. And confidence is one of the most sexy things out there. Try on line virtual makeovers and style suggestions.

what are the current trends in clothes shops?

Q. I have a job interview in a clothes shop and was wondering what current fashion trends are.

A. I don't follow women's fashion but I can provide the guys' trends for fall 2012 through summer 2013, or at least how they're predicted to be. This is according to major runway shows in Europe, so trends in American stores or unique shops will vary.

Some general trends: Slim pants/jeans (sometimes skinny), rolled up once or twice, JACKETS, hairstyles that are short on the sides/back and styled on top, accessories like watches and bracelets always make you look more stylish

Fall 2012 has some very light blues and oranges leftover from summer 2012 but they're only thrown in. Mainly, it's getting darker with blacks and grays, occasionally an obscure white or yellow dominated outfit. "A play on fabric" as Armani calls it is trendy, mixing different patterns and fabrics that you wouldn't normally match, as long as they go together in color. Outfits should stay simple and sleek though.

Winter 2012-13 is best described as "dark" and sometimes "tribal" with almost all black, brown and gray on jackets, pants and shoes/belts. Fabric play still revealant: For example, charcoal sweater with leather jacket throw-over.

Spring/summer 2013 should be sleek and include Mediterranean colors not only in just clothes but especially accessories. Like turquoise belts/shoes, bags and shirt accents. "Easter" colors is a good way to put it also. The base colors are blue and green.

Any good stores to buy cute/cheap clothes for back to school? (Girls; Austin, Tx; Sophomore 2012-2013)?
Q. My freshman year wardrobe was just horrible! I basically rocked the homeless look all year long!! -.-
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where I can buy back to school clothes for a pretty cheap price, since I'm about to start my sophomore year. My mom's a single mom of 4 and I really hate making her spend lots of money. I'm 15, so I can't work yet, which doesn't help the money situation. I live in Austin, Tx. if that helps.
Honestly, I'm open to any suggestions on what clothes to buy bc I just buy what ever, but I want to make my wardrobe better/cuter. What kinda tops/bottoms/shoes should I get? What clothes should I buy that I'll be able to dress up or down with? I want to stop buying clothes that I can only wear for certain occasions or that I'll only wear once or twice a year.
I wanna buy clothes that's for fall, winter, & spring. Any suggestions?
Sorry for all the questions, it's just that I suck when it comes to being in style! What kind of shoes should I buy that'll match with everything? Lazy days & dressed up days. Every year I buy shoes that I can only wear with certain outfits & I find myself dressing horribly bc of that! >.<

Once again, sorry for all the questions, but I'd appreciate it if y'all helped me be in style for my sophomore year! I'm trying to not exceed $100, but I guess I can work with what I get, since everything's so pricy now-a-days! Thanks so much for your time and help! :)

Links to cheap, cute outfits is much appreciated as well as stores in the Austin or surrounding area! :D

Side note: Usually the styles I'm into are girly and/or floral, but then again I love the country style. I have cowgirl boots, so any outfits that'll go with them & any other shoes would be great! :D
One more thing, please keep in mind that I'm kinda chubby, so I'd appreciate suggestions of clothes that'll actually look good & not make me look even more fat. lol

A. i am a mother of a girl exactly your age who is also starting her soph year. unfortunately, unlike you she doesn't care how much her single mother spends. lucky for you i am both thrifty and fashion forward. i suggest you go to your local thrift stores and spend the bulk of your money there.
you need to have at least one perfect pair of jeans but two is better(skinny and boot cut). if you are a little chubby, stay away from super low or even low cut waists-they will create that dreaded muffin top and it's never attractive.
you also need a good coat that looks cute and keeps you warm. i say look for something that is unusual, funky, different but fits well and is comfy to wear. it will express personality and help u stand out. but be careful it isn't too out there! that could bring u the wrong attention.
get urself a pair of converse in a bright color that compliments the color of the jacket and the tops u get. think contrast. if ur a girly girl, baby pink is great with most everything u might wear.
make sure u have enuf tops and bottoms to dress for a week(bare minimum) without repeating anything except shoes and jacket. on a budget like urs that is do-able, and u should continue to add pieces whenever u can so u have more options. make sure everything u buy fits u right! that is, not too tight(hoping u will fit it soon) or too loose. try lots on to find what works (style/size) and stick with it.
another thing, look for the best quality items so they will last longer and look better. express ur personality but it's best to stay away from super trendy things or too extreme cuz they won't last long into the new school year. remember everyone is figuring out who they are/want to be just like you so be confident and focus on ur goals. that is the best way to look great all year long!!
i hope this helps u. let me know if u want more info or if u have any questions. have a great year!!

Where can a woman with size 12 WIDE feet find a variety of quality, trendy, comfortable selection of shoes??

Q. I've got big feet... I hate "Coward" and catalogs like it that have a large variety of what I term "old lady shoes". I wear a size 12 wide. Just to give you an idea of what I like - I love my dansko clogs (mens) and birkenstock sandals, but I want something more slighty feminine. I wish I could wear Sketchers...but they're too small. <sigh>

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help!
Brooke :)

A. zappos.com
shoes.com
and
amazon.com
also some places like Nordstrom will special order another size shoe for you if they dont have it in stock

Do other women find it frustrating that the super cute, stylish shoes never come in wide widths?
Q. My entire life, I've crammed my feet into normal, medium width shoes. I've looked longingly at the sexy, strappy sandals that so many women can wear with ease. But I finally had to come to terms with the fact that I just have WIDE feet. I'm not a huge woman - but my feet are wider than normal. I know there are alot of other women (YOUNG women) out there who have the same issue. Yet the shoe manufacturers won't make shoes in wider widths. It's like they think wide equals fat feet and if we don't want fat women, then we sure don't want to recognize there are people with fat feet wearing our shoes! :) I think it's silly that women are trained to believe they have to be in PAIN to be beautiful. When you do a search on the web, most wide shoes look like they should be on 80 year old grannies. Occassionally you'll find a somewhat trendy looking shoe but it's rare. Who else find this frustrating?

A. It is as if I wrote this question!!! I though I was the only one feeling this way! Most shoes are like sausages...Although Payless shoe store has a bigger variety of wide shoes, they're just mostly not real leather. But for the price you can replace them more often...
We should start a campain: Wides have rights too!! hehe

Fall:
Haha! the Fall runways shows came out a few days ago but here is just the general gist of it:

70s fashion
Like the '50s and '60s coming back, so are the '70s! There are two main aesthetics: '70s bohemian, and '70s sophisticated glamour. This includes dresses that fall like shimmering water in the evening and high-waist pants with elegant blouses by day! High waisted wide-leg pants or flares, smartly belted in.Neat bow-blouses, especially ones with billowing or bishop sleeves. Particularly great are fabrics like silk and satin.Roll neck sweaters tucked into pants or skirts. Also layering over beaded necklaces or a vest!

Pleats- Popular in spring and also for fall! However, then pleats will be worn paired socks or tights and heels, and some cosy layers on top. A rock-chic pair of boots, mixed styles for contrasts (like flowly pleated skirts with a bohemian fur or a tough biker jacket), etc....

Fur Clothing- as always...
Bell Bottoms- aka Flare jeans
Wide Leg Pants

Accessories:
Leather-ware harness
Choker necklaces
Cuff bracelets!
Studs

Colors: This year fall is slightly different! Bright colors are also going to be trendy with fall!
Black
Olive
Bronze shades?
Midnight blue, silver, and gray shades
Forest green and plum

Oh! and I think that the popular tribal print will be slightly reinvented as a trend for Autumn too!
Uhh Feather, Tribal, Army green will be popular in both seasons!

Dress nonchalantly. Don't overdo it or under do it by wearing sweats. I think the 2nd and 3rd days are the days you should wear you cute new stuff :D. Be different!
Oh! I was going to add... you should also buy cute jackets like white jean jacket, cropped jean jacket, etc over dresses (very cute) or tanks that don't meet dresscode and Miss me jeans, uggs, Juicy couture, Pink hoodies, Coach bags are also popular

How can I dress better without looking like a tool?

Q. I've never taken a deep plunge into fashion, so going all out with the latest would not be in my character. I'll wear skinny jeans, but scarves seem awkward if not for cold weather. I don't really understand how to use accessories, or colors, or matching. I'm also short, so any advice on short guys dressing trendy would be greatly appreciated.

A. shirts = plain white tees, graphic tees (no logos if possible), & the occasional abercrombie shirt (dont overdo it tho, or you'll look like a douchebag!)

jeans = anything! guys can pull off virtually any style, so dont limit yourself. heres some inspiration: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/category_full_fashion_guide.jsp?catId=cat130130 -skinny jeans are tricky to pull off, so try on a lot of styles before you buy

NO fashion scarfs! please leave those to women

shoes = you can go with skater vans: http://shop.vans.com/catalog/Vans/en_US/product/men/skate-shoes/widow-men.html

the universally loved converse: http://www.converse.com/?CSID=212#/s/products/collections/specialcollection7 (high or low tops)

or (depending on the occasion) a flip flop: http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=abercrombie

for hoodies and jackets, there are many looks you can go with.

skater = vans, element, fox (you can buy these brands at Pacsun)

beachy-casual = abercrombie, hollister, aeropostle

preppy = the gap

What does it mean by tendy night club attire when going to vegas?
Q. I am going to be in vegas in 2 months and wondering what to wear and examples for men and women. Need help with this and lots of ideas especially for men! Thanks

A. Trendy means whatever is most popular at that time. Backwards baseball caps and baggy pants were once trendy for young men but now a lot of clubs frown on that look. Fancy clubs usually have a dress code posted at their entrance and on their web site. When RA was in Luxor, I read their card, it said something about men having to wear a collared shirt, no tennis shoes (sneakers) allowed, no t-shirts, no jeans. Look up the clubs on Google and look for their dress codes.

For example, here's Pure's dress code:

http://www.caesarspalace.com/casinos/caesars-palace/casino-misc/pure-nightclub-detail.html

Dress Code:
Casual Chic: Fashionable attire is required. No sports jerseys, tank tops on men, tennis shoes or athletic wear of any kind will be permitted. The dress code is at management's discretion.

Is there such thing as Trendy Orthopedic Athletic shoes?
Q. I'm a 34 year old woman who works in a business casual setting. Can anyone help with finding trendy orthopedic shoes? My Dr says I need to wear gym shoes while treating my planter faciitis but it seems difficult to accessorize around the New Balance shoes??? Puma is trendy but are they ok? I'm going to ask my Dr about them but thought I may get an answer here first. Help please?! Most styles are just too u-g-l-y!

A. Hi,

This question is the reason so many retailers of orthopedic shoes have trouble selling their products to consumers. The answer is quite simple -- yes! Nowadays, orthopedic shoe manufacturers have started bringing in shoe designers to update their shoes. In fact, they try to mirror the current styles of ordinary shoes as much as possible, while preserving the qualities and features that make them orthopedic.

If you are looking for a place to start your search for stylish orthopedic shoes, check out brands such as Orthaheel, Aetrex, Ecco, and Propet.

Guys, where are the best places to buy inexpensive sweaters (winter clothing) in Paris, France?

Q. Guys I need your help to find the best clothing stores in Paris where I can buy good quality winter clothing and at the same time not so expensive? I need coat, sweaters and boots...
Going to France for 5 month, and I have to take some summer and winter clothing, but my luggage supposed to be max 22kg/50pounds (obviously not enough for me.) :( So the only option to shop there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

A. If you're coming from the USA, an extra lugagge is charged $100 ..... Lots cheaper than buying a coat, boots etc.
http://www.aa.com/i18n/utility/041208_CheckBagFee.jsp?anchorLocation=homePage.do&url=aad-marriott-hotel-offer.xml&_locale=en_US&repositoryName=PromotionContentRepository&repositoryId=16630281&reportedTitle=Changes+To+Bag+Charges+To+And+From+Europe&reportedPos=1

A good quality coat costs over 800, unless you buy during the sales. If you absolutely want to buy a coat, boots and clothes in Paris, I suggest going to an outlet, La Vallée Village is at the outskirts of Paris, sells many brands and there's a second shopping centre at the same place, which is not an outlet but sells inexpensive brands and it's quite big.
http://www.lavalleevillage.com/en/brands/women

There's a cheaper outlet, the cheapest though sale some good brands, it's not in Paris, it's in Troyes city, you could also find nice clothes there though for the shoes better go to La Vallée Village.
http://www.mcarthurglen.com/fr/mcarthurglen-troyes/fr/

In La Défense, just outside Paris, tube station La Défense Grande Arche, line 1 or RER A, theres Les 4 Temps shopping centre, it mostly sells inexpensive brands.
http://www.les4temps.com/W/do/centre/categorie-mode-femmes

Zara is an Spanish chain of fashion stores, trendy and unexpensive, very popular in Paris.
http://www.zara.com/fr/fr/nouvelle-collection/femme/vestes-c269184.html

Concerning the sweaters, I reccommend buying cashmere ones at Monoprix supermarkets, good quality, quite warm (cashmere is the warmest wool), they cost just above 100. I often buy these sweaters and I combine with coats from Armani, Guy Laroche or Max Mara.

Since you'll spend less than 6 months in France, you can benefit from the vat refund, I think it's 12% off. http://www.douane.gouv.fr/page.asp?id=49
Mc Arthur Glen outlet and 2 department stores : Printemps and Galeries Lafayette give a 10% reduction card to tourists, simply ask for one at the welcome desk.

What dress could compliment my long-torsoed figure?
Q. I'm having a little trouble finding a dress for the upcoming winter formal dance at my high school. I have a long torso, so it's hard to find a dress that doesn't make my legs look like stubs. I also have a curvy figure (skinny stomach, bigger chest and butt), so wearing an a-line dress just makes my butt stick out and draws more attention to my long torso.

What cut would look best on me? (I'm about 5'4").

Any suggestions would be awesome!

A. Try dresses with this type of shape:
http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/angles-of-mine-dress
http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/swoon-enough-dress

Here are just some general tips for girls with long torsos:
Try to elongate your legs

The longer your legs look, the less the observing eye will see any discrepancy or imbalance between legs and torso. Good bets include sporting short hemlines, wearing shoes and tights in the same color range, wearing pants and shoes/boots in the same color range, and trying out a few pairs of platform shoes.

Investigate high waists

High-waisted pants and skirts are an amazing tool for the long-of-torso. Since they end well above your true, natural waistline, they create visual balance along your midsection. Luckily, high waists have been trendy for a couple of years now, so they shouldnt be too hard to locate!

Belt high, belt wide

Empire waisted dresses and tops are fabulous bets, but you can belt shirts and dresses on your own, too. And when you belt, belt high. You may be belting above the smallest part of your waist/torso, but in doing so, youll balance all that length. Utilizing a wide belt will help, too, since skinny belts might actually make your torso look yet longer. The width of the belt will break things up more gracefully. (If youre a petite woman with a long torso, either stick to belting high or experiment with medium-width belts.)

What kind of shoes are popular for women and teegnage girls in Sweden?
Q. What is popular in the winter and in the summer?

A. Here is a link to a shoe store in Sweden, even if you can't read Swedish it's easy enough to browse the tabs.
http://dinsko.se/Shop-online/Dam

And you can look at what people in Sweden are wearing here:
http://lookbook.nu/looks#countries/sweden/sort/newest/time/this-month

The styles change every season. People tend to be casual during the day and dress up if they're going out at night. Sneakers are very common in summer (Converse, Adidas, Puma, all the usuals) as well as ballerina slippers and sandals (last year it was the strappy gladiator type). Waterproof boots are sort of a necessity in winter, you'll see very trendy ones in major cities but in rural areas they're often practical rubber ones like wellies. Right now a lot of girls are wearing ankle boots and wedges, some of them open toe. I've also seen a lot of loafers lately.

What are some good teenage guy shoes and tee's for the summer and fall?

Q. My shoes are are about to give away, and I was wondering what the "in" guy shoes this summer/fall? I currently have red nike free runs, and I'm looking at getting nike skate shoes. Also I hate wearing graphic/brand name tees and I was wondering what's another alternative to these?I know this probably doesn't matter, but I live in the suburbs of Chicago and go to a sorta preppy school. So most guys wear skinny jeans and Jordan's.

A. You wanna look good and in fashion? Dress the way i do. I live in portland a trendy vintagey place. Ok heres how you can dress, ditch graphic tees and as well as those nikes. Places i shop are american apparel( here you will shop you basic tees) if its to much target has basically the same typed of shirts a little more in budget. Why basic tee? If you have to wear tees dont have graphics on them. These come off childish and young. Wearing hollister and ambercrombie makes you look like a deuce and a metro so ditch those. If you want more of a preppy look a great outfit is again a basic tee of any color you like and get some chino shorts that match well ( mostly for summer use warm colors or pastels.) one of my outfits like this is a white tee with a navy blazer with a salmon colored chino short. Button ups! Yes both plaids and normal are great! They are both very in fashion. You can even wear them with chinos just role up the sleeves to where they are tight and above the elbow.also skinny jeans are great! But make sure you have the body type. If you have a muscular skinny (ciggarette) jeans are as flattering. I can never wear skinnys in unporportions my upper half. So if you are muscular like me wear slim straights or just slimfit. They are more flattering. Ok shoes. Dress shoes that can look casual and arent very "dressy"are perfect get them in a dark brown a perfect color for any outfit.you could wear dockers or sperrys. They are popular.also if you ever wonder about accesories. Ties watches and glasses are all good additions.jackets avoid pullovers and get blazers( thrifting they are easy) and button up jackets and military style jackets. Also another way to make yourself stick out and look better are skin care and hair. Hygeine even though its not apart of the question is also a plus to every outfit. Gelled haircuts are making a modern return like the new version of the pomp. I mean look at jt tunnel vision mv his suave hairstyle is a portrayl of 40s and 50s hairstyle. Most guys dont understand dressing well is apart of looking well. Always be shaved and well groomed. Also make your skin clear with neutrogina face washes and moistrizers. Trim those nails and make sure your clothes are always clean and washed. A number of good places to shop for guys, forever 21 cottonon target american apparel urban outfitter h and m and express. Also cologne please dont over use it! Spray your wrist rub together and place on neck then spray chest once sudilty is best. Sorry for ranting i just thought i should tell all i know:) thanks.

Who are these guys wearing skinny jeans and colorful shoes?
Q. Is the new style for young people to wear tight jeans and bright colored shoes? Is this pretty common in the city? I've just started to notice people dressing like that. Maybe is it a punk or new hippie thing or something? It seems like they are all vegetarians too.

A. If the clothing isn't DIY, then they're not punk. Most likely they're not punk. It's just another trend. A new trend. Nothing to make a big deal over. Vegetarians? Don't believe that. I've known many annoying vegetarian wannabes that do it to be cool. They eat gelatin. I doubt they're vegetarian if they eat gelatin. The skin, cartilage, and bones of an animal. Trendy people is all they are.

How do i be preppy ( 20 characters)?

Q. thanks you guys i'm kinda trying to come out of the shy faze since my mother died and she always wanted me to be popular

A. Personally, I think the best style type is preppy because it is classic and never goes out of style. Here are some basic steps:

1. The attitude: Always present yourself in a nice and welcoming manner. Be polite and courteous with girls, boys, and teachers. Never be snobby and don't try too hard. Always talk! What I am saying is be social but never during class. Preppy people are never misbehaving people.
2. The clothes: Wear clean cut, classic clothes, but they do not have to be trendy. Places like Abercrombie and Hollister are not preppy, unless you buy the really simple items. Try J.Crew, Lacoste, etc. Wear skirts, khaki, polos, bermuda shorts and bright colors. The staples of the preppy style are oxford shirts, polo shirts, and sweaters/cardigans. anything simple and of a solid color will work! The Jackie Cardigan is also a good, classic choice. Also, try a cute blazer over a simple dress. Also, for jeans, don't have any rips in them. Some good colors for clothes include pastels in pink, blue, green, and yellow or neutrals such as off white and brown.
3. Accessories: Always wear accessories, but not too many. Try pearl jewelry such as pearl studs. Also wear ribbon belts in different colors.
4. Shoes: Clean white tennis shoes are cute, or leather or suede ballet flats. No sneakers or Uggs. If you want boots try leather or suede slouch boots or straight leg boots... classic!
5. Hair: Make sure your hair is always well cleaned and conditioned. Don't do the same thing every day, mix it up! Try ribbons in a ponytail, headbands, and pigtails.
6. Always keep clean: Brush your hair, take care of your teeth and nails, and smell nice. Also, for your nails, paint them clear, white, or light pink. Dark or bright nails are so tacky!
7. Do well in school: If you have the answer, raise your hand. But do not be a show off or brag about your grades.
8. Get involved in a preppy sport: Try lacrosse, cross country, track and fiel, horseback riding, volleyball, swimming, rowing or golf. ( I personally enjoy running!)
9. Most importantly.... HAVE CONFIDENCE!!! Focus on your inner beauty and never let anybody tell you who you should be. Also don't try and fit in, that will only make things worse. Ease into your preppy transition slowly, one piece of clothing at a time, or over a long vacation.

'shortie' why ask? to demostrate a point that DISCRIMINATING gays could result in things such as some great fashion/perfum brands never been created.

A. So, this isn't a question, this is an advertisement, eh?

If stores, designers, etc., depended on me for their sales, they would definitely be broke. I will buy my clothes second hand (many of which I even got free) before breaking down and buying new, which has to at least be on sale, if not on clearance and preferably at least half off. As it is, I have never paid more than $22 for an article of clothing in my life. (Last fall, I did purchase a coat for about $45, but I literally needed it and it was half off and if it's like my last winter coat, it will last me for about ten years. So, I'm good.)

I believe in doing this, I'm conserving and responsibly using the resources with which God has blessed me. Also, by doing this I'm supporting good causes (i.e., thrift stores) and helping to care for the earth, buy using second hand and not promoting the use of new resources that don't need to be used.

(I do this with almost all of the non-food, non-shoe, and non-underwear items I buy.)

As for perfume, I have found that deodorant is quite sufficient. (I have gotten these free or for no more than $1.50 with sale price and coupon, some of the freebies are either from sale price and coupons or free samples.)

ETA: Your advertisement, er, opening sentence, would have been much more clear and concise if you had used one or two more sentences. Actually, when you did use a period, you also wound up using a fragment. Poor sentence structure and grammar and spelling may not bode well for business.

ETA again: I've only worn clothes from Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrahi, both of which I recieved second hand. The CK jeans I had (which I purchased at a thrift store for just $3) ripped on me when I was pulling them on (the belt loop ripped.) I decided that if his clothes were that poor of quality, they weren't worth buying new. I think I have something from Mizrahi, I'm not sure. If I did, it was received second hand.

So, women are stupid enough to overpay for clothing from designers who happen to be gay? What's the point?

If you think that all men are idiots (assuming that is your site and/or you agree with it), does that mean you're permanently single and/or gay?

Shorty, well said. Not only are most of my clothes second hand, or cheap and I've had for many years, but I get compliments on them. The dress on which I've received the most compliments I rescued from a Dumpster. Today, when I go out, I'll wear second hand, free jeans, with a second hand free sweater, and a golf shirt that I got for only $2.50 at a store closing sale, and boots that I bought just over a year ago, new, for $22, but I expet them to last me a year or two more. Can't beat that. (I got the jeans, with a high funky cuff and distressed markings and the sweater from my SIL who will buy things new and full price because they are trendy.)

Q. Does anyone know of a website where I can find cute, trendy narrow shoes? I've looked at several sites but the only ones I can find are either very old looking or are birkenstocks (ewww!) All the regular size shoes I've tried in a 5 are too wide and gap at the sides.I think I need a size 5AA (narrow). Too small to find in stores. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A. Why don't you try Nordstroms.com or go to a nearest Nordstrom and have the sales people bring you a pair of shoes that you like in narrow or wide, whichever you need. Most the time they are really good with having different widths for their customers! If not, try the brand "Stuart Witzman" He has very cute but narrow shoes, although they are on the pricier side!

When should males start buying from mens?

Q. I am 5 feet tall. my shoe size is 6.5, but i always wear a half size bigger so that i can make them last longer while i get newer shoes so i can have alot of them. And one more thing, whats the difference between Kids, Juniors, and Men. not really kids, andmen, but how is juniors different from men and kids and what is it? Also i'm turning 13 next month

A. My personal feeling is that you should star buying men's clothes when you start high school. This includes both men's departments, and also stores meant for both teens and young adults, like American Eagle and the like.

Also, in a department store, the differences are something like
Kids = for little kids
Juniors = trendy crap
Men's/Ladies = a variety of clothes meant for adults, or teenagers who prefer classics over weird fads and trends, but you have to find what's right for you because these sections have things meant for 15-year-olds all the way to things meant for 100-year-olds.

Office ladies what do you wear to dress to impress at work?
Q. I am looking for new ideas for winter. Dress down or up, suit or smart-casual. Fashionable and interesting but professional, I need something new to wear. Links to photos and products would be great. Even accessories or hairstyles would help too. Thanks.

A. I work for several medical offices', so I have to look professional. It also depends on the specialty of the office. Surgical and Primary Care I dress conservative - dress pants, low heels, blouse w/ sweater or jacket, simple jewelry. Pediatrics - more colorful, fun or seasonal jewelry - pumpkin earrings, flashing witch pin. Plastic Surgery - shorter skirts with knee high boots, V neck shirts. More trendy & sexy.

Start w/ good basics: A suit set: pants, skirt, jacket, several blouses that can work w/ the suit including a white button down shirt. Shoes, quality med heel black & brown. This stuff should all have classic lines that won't go out of style. Knee high boots, black and brown.

Build wardrobe from this. Every girl needs a fab black dress & heels. Use accessories to update, Patterned tights add edge to a simple wool skirt and boots. Scarves bring color around the face & can be worn many ways including around the head and tied under chin, add large sunglasses, instant old hollywood glamour.

Hair can really pull a look together. Get a book on styling how to & play. KLUTZ has a great one. I like to wear a suit, pull my hair back in a bun or twist and wear black framed reading glasses.

To sum up: Quality, classic basics that can work together, a few trendy pieces, & a variety of accessories, jewelry, hair clips, scarves. A good way to stay current on trends is to look at the ads from Macy's, JC Penny. Some girls even keep a fashion scrapbook. Cut out items or outfits you like and glue them in a notebook. It helps when faced w/ a closet full of clothes and the words "I have nothing to wear" comes out of your mouth.

Where to buy great office wear?

Q. Alright so I had bought a suit up and a vest. However I want to buy some black skirts and lots of shirts.

I am going to start my alevels and we have to dress formaly.

So, where can I buy long sleeved women shirts at a great price?
List a shop or a website I could buy it from.
Thank you x

A. I'm not sure what alevels are... but I know where to shop!

Inexpensive:
Forever21 - they have semi-dressy things for very very cheap, thought the quality obviously isn't great.
Old Navy - more plain but still casual business appropriate.
Target - Great stuff, decent price, good shoes... love it.

Moderately priced:
H&M - can be on the cheaper side with some dress shirts at $20 or less, but they also have really nice and cute dresses and blazers.
Express - Great place for fitted shirts that are better in quality.

Pricey:
Banana Republic: Again, some items aren't bad, but generally cost more. A little reserved, but they have high quality basics and although they are pretty, not too trendy.
Thomas Pink shirts - the BEST fitted tailored shirts ever. WAY overpriced, but they fit like a glove!

Pretty, cute, trendy, and modest ideas for tween girl clothing?

Q. Hi! I am thirteen and I just want some cute outfit ideas for the summer! I want pretty modest (not like floor length skirts or anything) and trendy outfit ideas. I don't want something too old looking or too young. Haha thanks!

A. Get some cute flower print shorts with solid tops in the colors of the flowers. Get a sundress that matches one of your lightweight cardigans so you can wear it with the cardi for church or dinner out with the family or wear it by itself to a party with cute sandals. Striped dresses are trendy so that would be good.

White shoes are trendy too, so get white sandals because they coordinate with everything. If you want to get more, then get some extra shorts or cute capris that will go with the solid tops you bought for the multicolor shorts. btw, the first link is shorts for older girls. If you can't wear those sizes, then the second link is in junior sizes and so is the stripe dress which would go with any color of skinny belt and colored shoes. So cute!! : }

Why are Bratz dolls so popular?
Q. In my oh so humble opinion they are creepy and would have given me nightmares when I was a small child.

I also think that they are horribly unattractive and far too provocativly dressed for children to play with.

What's wrong with Barbie?

A. Good question, and I heartily agree!

Barbie(TM) was first manufactured in the 1950s and was the epitome of the developed, stylish woman: chic, blonde, twig-like (except in those places where she had great curves), and was pretty novel for the time. Girls have always loved dolls, and Barbie was pretty convenient: she came with a WIDE wardrobe, shuffled several occupations at once (teacher, doctor, astronaut, political party canidate, the list goes on). At the time, Barbie was like the Beanie Babies and Frisbees of the 90s: one hot commodity to have. She was convenient to dress and play with and was made of plastic instead of porcelein, which came into popularity after WWII after rations ended. She didn't break easily then, even in the small hands of her little friends.

Basically, Barbie grew up in the time period our mothers grew up in, and is an iconic figure of that era. Children nowadays no longer are big fans of Barbie's old-fashioned beauty idealics (if you haven't noticed the tween market is getting more...promiscuous). Now, the ideal toy is something trendy and hip...you know, mini-skirts instead of poodle skirts, platform shoes instead of high heels, suede and jeans jackets instead of ruffled blouses...

So if you can imagine now, children are looking at different beauty standards in this generation. Beyonce, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne are all examples of accepted appearance whereas Grace Kelly, Natalie Wood, and Marilyn Monroe were the beauty icons of the 50s/60s.

Now, back to the Bratz dolls.

Bratz have full, sensuous lips, easy-to-change wardrobe outfits which are much more up-to-date than Barbie's, big eyes, and are multicultural. They come with trendier jewelry and with accompanying male dolls that are updated to absorb this generation's standard of the "hot tough guy" (pardon my ridiculousness, it's the best I can explain it). The multicultural factor is pretty important; we're looking at more diversified market now than before, where the consumer was averagely the middle-class Caucasian-American in the 50s.

Basically, it boils down to the trends of this era as compared to the last, and the acceptance of certain beauty standards through generations. Barbie is considered an "old" toy (pshaw, although I will never think so!! YAY BARBIE!), and Bratz (the name itself is trendy, especially with that lame z....). I mean, would you want to be buying a trusty Toyota from your mom's era or a sleek Porsche from yours?

Stupid kids. Go back to Barbie.

How to build a Stylish wardrobe on a budget !!!?
Q. So ive got in a habit of buying plain stuff, like T-shirts and jeans. And either black or white shoes because they go with everything . And I dont have enough money to alot of diffrent shoes . And far as clothes I pick simple tshirts because I feel like really dont ho anywhere fancy .And if I buy something super cute or trendy . 9 times outta 10 .I wont have shoes to wear with it in my closet or any accessories . I wear a size 12 in women and their shoes can be expensive. Im tired of looking dull. How can I build a cute summer wardrobe.

A. You can shop ebay for some cheap but cute clothing.

Otherwise, when you shop for tshirts and plain items, look for things with graphics on the front or go for plain still but bolder colors. You can customise things at home yourself really easily, with tons of ideas on youtube and pintrest. Things like cut outs made into bows, adding ribbons weaved through the fabric to cinch in the waist, tie dying etc.

Folding up your jeans can give you an instantly revamped look, adding studs to leggings, even fabric paint.

Wearing scarves and jewelry pulls together simple outfits really effortlessly.

You can fold up the sleeves on your tshirts for an edgier look, or if you have button up shirts, leave the last couple of buttons undone and tie the shirt in the front.

Have you thought about buying colored blazers or statement jackets, so you don't have to change your wardrobe but have something different to wear with the same outfits?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161000551620?var=460163843345&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Things like this are also really cheap and cute, and can be worn tons of ways. You can wear them loose, cinched in with a belt, tucked into jeans and skirts, tied at the front for a cropped look etc

Black skater skirts are good because they look cute, you can tuck shirts/t's into them, they go well with hooded jackets, blazers, cardigans, and pretty much any shoe.

As for shoes, you could opt for colored sandals, black slipper flats, gladiator sandals etc because they work with pretty much anything.
