what brand of trainers are trendy nice for a female?
Q. i usualy wear heels but i want some trainers for days out and just for comfort i bought a pair of very cheap plain black ones but hate them. id be happier if they were pink or more girly looking :) ive been looking at skechers and pink converse but dont know wich will look best. or if there are any brands i should look at

A. Skechers are great and they also help you shape up and tone your body just by wearing them around walking or on the job or anywhere else they even have running shoes to give burn calories than other shoes.
They are worth trying out because they will tone your body up and make you look leaner and taller just by regularly wearing them.
They got cool colors like pink and purple and more, they are quite trendy in additional to their health benefits even Kim Kardashian wears them and they have a complete collection by her name.
The skechers Tone ups are cool too. I like Women's Shape-ups - Kinetix Response S R T.
I've written an article on the benefits of Shape Ups, if you're interested to know more check it out at the link below. The article is on men's shoes but the benefits are the same for both.

Are Adidas Samba ...Girl or Guy shoes??
Q. I'm not a big fan of unisex anything, I was thinking of possibly buying a pair of these shoes if there not too girly. What does everyone think???

A. I remember having a pair of black with white stripe Adidas samba shoes about 10 years ago, and if I remember correctly, they were indoor athletic shoes - and the pair I had were guy's shoes. Now - that doesn't mean that Adidas hasn't branched out with this model...

A quick stop over at Adidas' website and searching for Samba quickly reveals that this is a men's athletic indoor shoe with some junior/kid models also available. The only women's clothing labeled with 'Samba' are a pair of tights and training paints.

See for yourself:
http://www.shopadidas.com/searchHandler/index.jsp?searchId=18220091683&view=all&keywords=samba

I personally loved the Samba shoe (classic white on black) when I had them because they fit really well when I was running. Your question causes me to long for a new pair so I can start getting fit again.

My friend who got me hooked on these shoes was a pretty athletic guy who played soccer. These shoes are durable and light weight. They aren't flashy or full of stuffing like many of today's $$$ basketball shoes. They are good looking and extremely practical. It's alot like wearing a lightweight slipper or glove over your foot ... not some heavy boot with stuffing that's going to weigh 5 lbs after it gets wet.

However, your question causes me to wonder if you put too much value on what people think about you because of the shoes you wear. I think that's a little shallow - however - I'm way past my teenage years, and have gotten over most of that traumatic teen peer-pressure business. I might be able understand why you might be a little self-conscious wearing these because these aren't 'trendy', however I'm more interested in fit and function than fashion.

If you want a comfortable athletic shoe - and if you can find a pair of Sambas that fit you just right - I wouldn't hesitate to buy them.

Budget Running Shoes?

Q. Hey everyone, I recently started a walking/jogging routine and plan on doing running in the near future once my legs get used to exercising (I've led a relatively sedentary life until now). I was wondering if anyone could suggest a pair of moderately inexpensive running shoes.

My biggest problem seems to be aching feet, as my current shoes are 2 year old Walmart shoes (I paid 10 bucks for them lol). A shoe with an above-average amount of cushion would be preferable.

In case this information is helpful, I'm kind of a big guy, 6'0" and 220 lbs.

Thanks a lot everyone!

Oh yeah, my price range is probably about 50-85 dollars.

A. There is no such thing as a "budget" running shoe, fact is that if you want a decent pair of running shoes your going to pay between 80-100 dollars and buy new pairs every 300-500 miles unless you want to have injuries, which can cost you a lot more then 80-100 dollars, the best thing you can do is get is "value" being the best shoe you can get for you feet at the lowest price. Some people are the "trendy"types of runners that buy the most expensive shoes possible and completely ignore if the shoes actually are right for there feet, then there are the experienced runners that go to a running specialty store and talk to a trained salesman that most of the time is a fellow runner, and they ask them questions like if they are over-pronaters, pronaters, or under-pronaters, if they have high, low or normal arches, what distances the run on a weekly basis, and some times what weight range they are in. They help determine what shoe is right for you, and then you can find the best value out of the many shoes that they show you.

Where can I CHEAPLY buy stylish/trendy shoes online?

Q. I want a cute pair of brown combat boots, some new heals, and a few new shoes for summer, but I really don't want to spend a lot of money! Anyone know where I can get good deals online? Like, 40 bucks or under for a pair?

A. Surprisingly, Shoedazzle.com is $39.99 for any shoes, including boots. But I like to shop at forever21. Usually around $20-30. Oh! And for heels and such I LOVE Charlotte Russe. If you sign up for their text alerts they let you know about killer deals, too! I just bought 4 pairs of boots for $40!!!!!!

What kind of shoes are popular for women and teegnage girls in Sweden?
Q. What is popular in the winter and in the summer?

A. Here is a link to a shoe store in Sweden, even if you can't read Swedish it's easy enough to browse the tabs.
http://dinsko.se/Shop-online/Dam

And you can look at what people in Sweden are wearing here:
http://lookbook.nu/looks#countries/sweden/sort/newest/time/this-month

The styles change every season. People tend to be casual during the day and dress up if they're going out at night. Sneakers are very common in summer (Converse, Adidas, Puma, all the usuals) as well as ballerina slippers and sandals (last year it was the strappy gladiator type). Waterproof boots are sort of a necessity in winter, you'll see very trendy ones in major cities but in rural areas they're often practical rubber ones like wellies. Right now a lot of girls are wearing ankle boots and wedges, some of them open toe. I've also seen a lot of loafers lately.

What sneakers/casual shoes are trendy right now for young women?

Q. Hi, I'm 20 and I'm looking for some sneakers or casual shoes that are somewhat like sneakers. I plan on wearing them a lot during the fall season. I want to a buy a few pairs. So my question is, what brand or style is hot right now for fall 2007? I know boots and other classy style are in but I'm looking for somewhat comfortable casual sneakers. I hope sneakers is the right word for my question. My definition of a sneaker in this case is a shoe that resembles workout/sports attire but can be worn outside the gym. If any girls out there have some advice, please feel free to comment. :)

A. From my point of view, adidas superstar are ageless...like they are cool every year, every season....
Sth like this,a merge between ballet and sports shoes are really nice and casual http://www.shoes.com/product.asp?p=5031266&variant_id=EC1020958 you could try finding some a bit more colourful

What are the top 5 trendiest, most popular shoes for young women at the moment? Both brands and styles please.
Q. And pics if you have any. Thanks!

A. Pointed toe stilettos are making a comeback, from the rounded toes of seasons before. Also, pointed heels. Platforms are still trendy, but not platform wedge. Gladiator anything is getting big. Ballet flats are always trendy.

Need opinions: Which shoes should I buy? I cant decide?
Q. Okay so my friends going to america for a holiday soon and she's offering to buy things for her friends. I'm really not sure what to get!! Either these nike free runs, (i'm not sure what colour i want but this is just an example) that everyone has and i can wear to school for sport and look "trendy":

http://www.choosefrees.com/images/nike_free_run_2_women_red_orange_01.jpg

Or these converse that i have wanted for ages and i am in love with and i can wear dressy or casual:

http://www.modakulvar.com/etiket/converse-chuck-taylor-all-star-hi-top-black-monochrome-canvas-shoes/converse-chuck-taylor-all-star-hi-top-black-monochrome-canvas-shoes_12.jpg

Does it really matter what shoes you wear to school? Most people wear normal joggers like me but i would really like to own a pair of nikes, but on the other hand i so want these converse they would go with any outfit uhh i need lots of opinions and pros and cons so please help me out!
Thanks a lot xx

A. Guy opinion: Cons are always stylin': colors come and go, but there's no new or old style - they're Cons. And the the more wornout they get, kewler they look !

Really, for sports you want the support of specific-activity walkers, joggers, runners, trainers, etc. But for all-day wear, Cons are more comfie & breath better.

Big thing for girls here are the knee-high ones: seem edgie with jeans or somehow dressy too.

Are Converse All-Stars okay to wear when traveling in Italy?

Q. I'm going on a trip there soon and I already know that tennis shoes are a big no-no. Would converse be considered tacky there?

A. Tennis shoes are very common in Italy... Teens are used to wear them, but even if you're 30 that's just about how much you think appearance is important for you; if you ask to Italians living in Italy what's "trendy" or "elegant" they're going to give (usually :) the correct answer but simply just 5-10% of people do actually are "trendy" or "elegant" :-) I suppose that's the reason you were said "no tennis shoes!"
Anyway, Converse All Star and similar kind of shoes are commonly sold in Italy; personally, I can only suggest to avoid too much multicolored models and choose a more sober one, but that's just a hint.

Cheap female shoe store in America?
Q. I will be travelling to america in a couple of days and Im wondering which popular stores sell trendy cheap, affordable footwear in America. So I live in Australia and for example, here we have Rubi Shoes, Famous footwear and NOVO shoes. They have the latest shoes style and trend and sell them with student friendly price tags, so if any girls know any nice shoes stores they can recommend me, it would be extremely awesome. thank you in advance!

A. The best store for what you're looking for is Payless Shoe Source. They're pretty common in the Northeast over here, and I assume they're around in other parts of the country. Their shoes range from $15 to $25.

What style of shoes to wear with skinny jeans when I have big feet?

Q. I love wearing pointy toed shoes for work which is fine as I wear corporate pants and my feet don't look as massive when I wear them like that but I like wearing skinny jeans too, what style of shoes would look okay when I have big feet with the skinny jeans? Not thongs/flip flops though..

A. Flats will make your feet look longer, so they aren't the best choice. Apply the same concept that you use with dress pants to your casual pants: A higher heel will visually shorten the foot. Wedge heels are big this spring and summer and cool canvas and fabric wedges come in a rainbow of colors and prints. You can get them from ultra high four inches to more casual lower heeled versions. Here are a couple of options that will work: http://www.aldoshoes.com/ca-eng/women/sandals/wedges/95056030-glynis/37 is a nice lower heeled wedge. http://www.aldoshoes.com/ca-eng/women/sandals/wedges/93976140-stralsund/46 these are a bit dressier and will also work with summer skirts and sun dresses. http://www.aldoshoes.com/ca-eng/women/sandals/wedges/93991500-celenia/32 a basic canvas wedge like this can go with almost everything. http://www.callitspring.com/ca-eng/women/sandals/wedges/93522480-stolarik/53 this is a sky high floral wedge that's very trendy and this canvas one: http://www.callitspring.com/ca-eng/women/sandals/wedges/94812367-marceli/17 has a very different shape to the heel part of the wedge. There's lots of wedges in stores, all you need to do is find the ones you like the best.

what are the trendy shoe styles this year?
Q. I'm starting a business selling shoes but I need to know which are the most trendy styles for women this year. I don't want to buy a bunch of shoes that will not sell. I know that really high heels are not so in, but what about wedges or slip-ons? Please let me know your suggestions,

A. Well for teens, like myself you should try these:

* Flats - everyone loves them even adults.

* Converse or Vans. They are very in.

* my personal favorite shoes are harajuki, it's hard to spell. But they are proably the most expensive sneakers out there. The style of them is japanese harajuki obviously and they have a lot of high top and bright colors.

But the MUST haves are pretty much flats and vans. Guys also wear vans.

How large does women's clothing run in Japan?

Q. I'm going to Japan in a few weeks and I'd like to do some clothes shopping while I'm there. I'd like to go to the young, trendy shops, but I don't know if they'll have clothes that fit. I'm a size 8-10, and 5"7 with a C cup; will I be able to find clothes at trendy Japanese shops, or even at Japanese department stores (that aren't American labels, I didn't go all the way to Japan for that)? Or will I have to go specifically to a plus size place, which would hurt my ego since I've never done that in the US and which probably wouldn't have a great selection. Also, I wear a 7 1/2 shoe size, I should be able to find shoes easily, right?

A. shoes- you'd be a size 24.5 or 25 (its in centimeters)
and thats the biggest size that most shops make shoes in...its ridiculous!! whenever i go, im always at the "big shoes" corner since im also a 7.5 too.
clothing- ok, im a size 2 or 4, s or m at the abercrombie here. but over there, i once did not fit into an XL pair of pants. im a size 9 there (9 is the standard in Japan. the next is size 11, one size smaller is a 7, and those are the only 3 sizes they usually have a department stores) for tops. as for bottoms, lets just say that the XL pair was tiny. i just forget about the pants when i go there. plus, they dont have the best jeans anyway. the proportion just does not fit. its mostly their tops.
they also have the cutest bras. they will have sizes for everyone. theyre extremely lacy and colorful.
btw...
dont feel bad if some of the clothes run in only small sizes. if you look at them, japanese people all have the same body type. half of the stuff i try on usually do not fit right. (too short, too small, too thin)
and they make the cutest shoes and theyre really easy to walk in since japanese people walk everywhere.
and im 5'5 if that helps.

what to get:
shoes
bags (wallets too)
accessories- rings, necklaces, watches, etc.
tops
socks & bras (usually sold in the same store)
keychains
sun dresses

what not to get:
pants
formal dresses (800 dollars ea)

what to try:
they have amazing crepes in harajuku (are you going there?)
spagetti
pet clothing

hope this helps
if you want me to add stuff, just write it in your question description and i'll check back

Advice for Young Woman Traveling Alone in India?
Q. I don't need to be told that it's dangerous and not to go. I'm going.

I want to be respectful in the way I dress and how I handle myself in public situations. Although I know that India can be dangerous for women, I also know that ignorant tourists exacerbate the situation. I plan on arriving in Delhi in respectable clothing with a scarf and immediately shopping for salwar kameez. Is there certain color or styles to look out for? I'll be staying in the Lajpat Nagar area (I think)... places to shop? What do women typically wear on their feet? Do women wear sunglasses? Would wearing a tilaka (bindi) help me assimilate or would it be rude? If I were to wear one what color? Best places to see/shop in Delhi? Safest areas?

When speaking to strangers should I look them in the eye? Is it better to approach women or men when asking directions or help? Groups or alone? Should I book rides to train stations ahead of time? Taxi? Rickshaw? Can I walk in Delhi alone during the day?

I'm going on day trips to Agra and Jaipur from Delhi (CC) and also taking a sleeping train car to Varanasi to stay two nights. Tips for trains? I plan on going with the 1A or 2A.

Anything you can think of will be helpful! Thanks!
Also henna... I'd like to get some, but I know that depending on the design it can mean certain things. Advice for where and what to get?

A. huh, impressed by your research on the subject :D

well to start with, It'll be good you try salwar suit, but not many delhi girls wear that, most of them you'll find in western dresses only. still to get a feel of the youth, I shall recommend you to get around the north campus delhi university (accessible by metro) and get the latest style checks on colors and design of suits. You'll find a handful of trendy girls in Lajpat nagar too, but DU north cam is recommended.
well in feet they wear shoes / bellies, you can try "jutti" make sure you buy the right brands, they are not always comfortable.
By the time you'll come Sun'll kill you if you wont wear sunglasses.
Tilak is different from bindi. tilak is something put on religious occasions or may be when you arrive at hotel they'll put it on you after a welcome. Bindi is similar usually a plastic now a days, meant for married woman. bachelors put it too in style, but its meant for Married woman. single woman must put any color but red. put the one that matches your salwar suit.

Best places a lot depend on your mood and taste, you can find lot of them on web, I'll recommend you to go to humayun's tomb. If you need time to ponder go to Issa khan's tomb close to Humayun's tomb.
Safest areas I'll say are everywhere and nowhere. dont get around places alone at night is all i'll say.

Eye contact :) you'll make out looking at their eyes if you should make it or not. remember that people stalk in here, its just curiosity. its good if you keep yourself reserved.
Approaching a woman is safe, but not sure if they'll have answers to your questions. reach the gentleman, preferably alone but use your wisdom.
booking trains is not easy, you need to book well in advance or reach the agents. taxi buses etc are available.
And yes you can walk alone in delhi during the day.
day's trip to Agra and Jaipur is manageable but not both on same day. Del - Jaipur one day and Delhi - Agra other day.
Varanasi is a nice place to be, you'll find everything as you find in pictures, but the 'real' sages the Naga's, the Aghori's are not accessible. not ever to locales.
And Heena is better known as mehendi, you can reach any beauty parlor for the same. you'll find many in Lajpat nagar. or reach some salon in any malls.

Tips: research on the prices before you go places for obvious reasons :)
On day 1 apply for a local sim card, affordable plus connectivity & access to maps, apps etc.
download the delhi metro map on your phone, can use traveller's card for getting around city (2$ for multiple entries all round the day)
note the woman's helpline number 1090 or delhi police 100. very supportive

Q. im looking to buy some nice leather shoes but cant find any good ones, who are some really good manufacturers or designers of leather shoes, not dress shoes but hip casual ones you can wear with jeans, i know cole haan is good but who else is out there???

A. Yes cole haan is gr8 guys shoes! I always see them at like marshalls or t.j. max for pretty good prices. Gucci makes unbelievable mens shoes. My bf's had the same pair for 2 years and are better then ever. Aldo's has really nice/trendy mens shoes.

Outfits for teachers?

Q. I am going to be a teacher but before I start I need to do in-class observations and I have no idea what kind of clothing to wear. I want it to be kind of trendy but I want to look professional and not trashy or anything like that...HELP!!

A. comfortable shoes that wont click when you walk down the hall. Washable clothes if you are working with elementary kids (crafts, dirty hands, etc.) Taylored slacks and blouses are cute, and have a jacket in case your room gets too cold. Avoid boots, low-cut clothes and tight pants. You will be watched carefully as a first year teacher. good luck!

What do you think of these shoes?
Q. Link Here:

http://www.geox.biz/images/collezioni/U81Z5D-BT-C9999.jpg

A. They are nice. However from the side picture i cant tell how pointy they are! my teacher wears really pointy ones made of snake skin. Which are gross. They are a traditional black colour in a fashioble style? you know what this means? You are being trendy but not in a "look at me!!" way. (like my teacher) anyway purchase that in that or a silver/grey colour. But dont stray out of those. Or you will look ..dont know the word for it i guess "frivolous?" anyway, it is a good to push the fashion boundaries, and thats a great way to start.

Spring break is almost over... what should I wear when I go back to school?

Q. I want to change my winter fashion abit to match the spring fashion... keep in mind that I'm a 15 year old teen boy who doesn't want to look older than someone who's in his age group because he doesn't want people to think of him as an adult (I don't know if that made sense). I don't want to buy the adult clothing worn by models until I'm like 17-18 years old. I'm like 1/4 metrosexual(the only thing that really makes me more metro than other guys at high school is that I like to wear light, really thin scarves). I also like to match my clothes based on colors. So...um...have any ideas?

Btw I go back to school on the 3rd
Btw I don't want to look like a fruit cup(no offense if I offended anybody)

A. Spring is coming so you need a new wardrobe no more bulky clothes for cold weather. Check your coat at the door and show off your T-shirt! Anything goes from cool graphics to athletic brand tees, you'll be the trendiest kid on the block once you throw on a great T-shirt. Head to the mall and track one down now, as well as a plaid shirt. Plaid isn't just for geeks anymore cuz they're springing up on everything from shirts to shorts! If you're not mad about plaid, then stick to a plaid hat or belt. And get yourself some cool kicks like old-school Vans or Chucks. These shoes look great with your jeans and come in a ton of colors and materials. Basically since its spring you just have to think light! Lighter tones instead dark greens an blues and reds, try the lighter springier (if that's a word) baby blues, periwinkles, and even pink! (It takes a real man to wear pink) you have three day to get it together (haha the third is my birthday) good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Q. so recently ive been wanting to compelety change. im 16 and ive basically had then same style since i was 11. i love looking at old hollywood stars before ans after they were famous because there is such a huge difference. i relized that i have a body that was more praised in the 50s than now meaning a small waist with a bigger bust. i also like the sixies stye as well, like the hair and makeup. is there any ideas or tips on how to have a style with a mix of the fiftes and sixites modernize. sny tips with makeup, hair, and clothes would be wonderful

A. Hi! If you like a more vintage look, you can take some obvious components of vintage fashion and incorporate it into your regular style. I looked at some photos of vintage makeup and I noticed makeup in the 50 & 60's really focus on highlighting features. (making the eyes look big, and perfecting the lips and skin) Here's some tips/ideas to get a vintagey look ;)
MAKEUP:
-For the eyes, try using eyeliner (liquid or gel is probably better to get that clean look) and line your eyes close to the lashline and flick it up just a little to make a tiny wing. Take a slightly shimmery highlighting color and apply a little in the inner corner, browbone, and ball of your eyes to make them look defined. If you want, use a matte brown or nude color in your crease to sculpt the eyes even more. This is really popular in old and new makeup if you look at photos. Also, you can use accent lashes on the outer edge of your lashes to make them appear larger, and doe-like. Marilyn Monroe and many old hollywood stars sported this look!
-On your face, try using a highlighter on your cheekbones, center of your forehead, and the bridge of your nose to make your face look defined and glowing. You can follow up with a matte bronzer and buff it into the hollows of your cheeks to further sculpt your face.
-And for lips, you see alot of the time they have that really classic red lip...but for your age it probably isn't the best. Stick with a lip color close to your own lip tone or a nice baby pink/nude color.
HAIR:
-I see that for the most part, pin curls and sculpted short curls where really popular. But those aren't too wearable for everyday. I also see that bouffants where pretty popular too and those you can easily do yourself. Just take a section of hair in the front (from one eyebrow arch to the other) and twist it once and push it forward a bit to creater volume. Pin this down and you get a really cute pouf. You can do this in the center, or to a side. If you want to rock the pin curls of that era just curl a section of hair around two fingers hold together while you heat it with a flat iron or do it when your hair is damp, pin it down and let it air dry.
DRESS:
-OMG! When you say your body isn't praised nowadays you are SO wrong!! O: I would DIE to have a body like you! (plenty of other girls agree too!) Full skirts were really popular back then and so where round collars. Try a top with a peter pan collar! These have been so trendy the past couple of years, but to make it more modern and flirty try a chiffon fabric. (Sheer) Try tucking them into skinny jeans and use a cute skinny belt to finish off the look. Maybe try a high-lo skirt because the pleating in alot of them remind of old style pleated skirts. There are alot of vintagey flowy/pleated skirts out in stores nowadays just keep them above the knee. Try Forever21 if you've never shopped there before because they have really cute clothes! Oxfords add a really cute school-boy vintagey touch to any outfit and they are really in right now!

Well that pretty much sums up my thoughts. LOL sorry it was SOOO long ): I just think it's cool to had a retro twist to your personal style because I see so many girls at school wearing like the exact same things as eachother! You're also in luck because vintagey old-school touches are really popular nowadays with shoes, collared tops, pleated skirts, etc. Good luck with your makeover! Hope I inspired you :P

Please help fashion crisis!!:|?

Q. Alright this might be a little long but please bare with me and I'll try to sum it up at fast and as best as I can.
So first off I need a outfit check. My friends and I are going shopping tomorrow evening and I'm wearing a high wasted black pencil skirt with a striped yellow and grey shirt tucked in; the skirt goes a little above my knee. My first question is what shoes would look best with that outfit and what accessories? My second question is should I wear like black tights with it or no( I wasn't planning to but it rains 360 days out of the year where I live). And if you have hair suggestions that would be helpful too. I have long super curly red hair.

Next thing: this year I am going to be a sophomore and I'm going to a new school but I know only a few people there and I want to really wow them and make my next 3 years as a highschooler a good one. My parents are very successful in their businesses and get paid a very large amount but don't indulge their payments in things like cars, phones, clothing, stuff like that. My parents focus pretty much entirely on education. Which is fine with me but I have no money to buy cloths and they won't give me any. I'm starting to work soon and my goal is to get to $600 and go on a big back to school shopping spree. I HATE spending tons of money and not being satisfied with what I got. I usually shop all over but everything is sooo expensive and I don't really find what I want. Can someone help me on outfit ideas or just something to spark my imagination? Send me links or pictures of cute outfits. My style is pretty and girly but I'm an big athlet too so I have lots of sweatshirts. I want to be pushed out of my confert zone into like modern hippy and vintage with like some rock in it.... if that made any sence at all. So yeah help:)

Thank you guys soooooooo much for reading this it means a lot!!!:) 10 points to the best answer and my forever love:)

A. A MODern, semi-hippie/semi-athelete, college co-ed with long,. curly red hair can be pulled together and give an awesome impression to others..by eliminating anything trendy and focusing on basics.

Stepping out of one's comfort zone is important..especially with clothing/style options because it's remarkable how one is perceived when they alter the way they dress. It really does 'make the man' (or woman).

Example:
Let's say one dressed in faded jeans and t-shirts all the time. I can see why they would wonder about changing their look and style, especially when they're about to start college. An easy, do-able transition may be simple, cotton basics. A little more preppy vs hippie. (I like 'hippie', though).

Always check out outlet stores, outlet malls, and stores that offer name brand separates at much lower than dept. store prices. Dept. stores and trendy retail stores ARE too expensive. That's why smart consumers cut the costs by saving where they can.

Buying bulk packages of 100% cotton tanks, short and long sleeved cotton shirts, (even men's tanks) cost much less, and are virtually interchangeable with most things. Plain, cotton, solid color (black is a must) leggings are standard. A track suit (cotton), (navy, black or khaki colors), with a pair of track shoes easy.

-3 pair of flat-front, cotton, slim, (but not tight) low-rise pants. (black, khaki and navy)
-3 long sleeved cotton tops (black, khaki and navy)
-12-pack of cotton, ribbed tanks (black white and navy)
-2 cotton, cardigans (navy and black)
-2 longer flat-front cotton skirts (black and navy)
-2 over-sized, cotton, button-down, long-sleeved shirts (white and black)
-black and navy long-sleeved turtlenecks
-1 cute (black or navy) beret
- pair of really cute loafers
-black and navy leggings
=
100's of various combinations that can all be intermixed and easily mixed and matched.

black pants + black t-shirt + white cotton shirt tied at the waist.
khakis + navy t-shirt + navy cardigan
navy skirt + white shirt + navy cardigan
black pants + black tank + black cardigan
khaki skirt + navy tank + white cotton shirt and navy cardigan tied at the waist

Getting (or crocheting) one, long, cool-looking scarf in a bright, awesome color (like olive or bright red)..or one, bright red, over-sized sweater can be thrown on, over the top of every single combination and you'll appear to be really stylish, and so put together. Stick to monocromatic solid colors and neutrals = always appropriate. This style of dressing is known as the "French" style. It's effortless, and non-trendy = classic.

Basics always look pulled together and clean. Target, Gap, Old Navy, H & M are great for basics. Kmart, Walmart-type stores that sell packs of tanks and t-shirts = the best. Mix and match and don't allow yourself to buy anything trendy.

Interchangeable Clothes-Basic Starter wardrobe
http://www.define-your-style-clothes-magic.com/basic-mix-and-match-starter-wardrobe.html

Avoid anything trendy. Trendy isn't college attending, together, young female.
Trendy = tween/teen.
Bubblegum pink baby doll dresses, neon colors, logos = everyone would notice when/if you wore it again. Not practical. The trendier one dresses, the more they have to buy. Mainly because trendy items don't mix well with standard basics. They're out of style practically the day they're purchased. Neon purple is only a "hit" for a couple of weeks and then it's a "miss".

Standard basics can be purchased at outlet stores, Target (really cute stuff), or even local thrift stores have basics. Who cares if they were 'previously worn'..if they're cute, basic, and fit well.

When one dresses with clean, "preppy", mix and match basics, the impression is that person is together. She's organized, she's smart, she's not trendy, she's not misguided, she's not immature, she's not driven by knee-jerk decisions = all good.

quick question on fashion footwear?
Q. if you guys know about fashion foot wear please help me out cause i dont know a thing about it
i have to find an image of a (basic , fad , fashion) footwear .. i need u guys to help me out please

A. Here are examples of the three different categories of shoes that you asked about. A basic shoe is one that is seldom trendy but always worn by lots of women--a classic like a plain high heel, a basic sneaker, a basic moccasin shoe, plain flat, or plain lace up or slip on oxfords.

A fad style would be something that women suddenly started wearing but that has not been popular over a very long time in history. Like Uggs, sneakers with wheels under the sole, super high platform heels etc.

A fashion style is one that is over the top in design elements and may never be seen other than on the runway like lobster shoes, those wedges that were so high that the model Naomi Campbell fell off of them on the runway. They do make fashion shoes, based on the crazy super high fashion runway shoes, that are more wearable and made for the public.

problem with my big stupid feet?

Q. I am a size 12 in women's shoes and there are no cute shoes anywhere! I can't fit into all the cute shoes the other girls my age wear. I'm so frustrated. I have tried zappos and nothing. I am so sick and tired of having no cute shoes. I don't have any heals because the only ones available in my size in shoe stores are ugly. can someone help me? Is there a foot size reduction surgery or something?

A. I have size 12 shoes. This is what I do. Never shop in malls because it is frustrating and will really feel awful. I only shop online and there are so many beautiful and trendy shoes for size 12. One of the best places I have found is Tall Clothing Mall as they show us the trends for larger size shoes.

What are the most comfortable (can't be sneakers or white though) shoes to wear for everyday? See details....

Q. I work full-time in an insurance office and dress professionally, but no suits. Pants/skirts with sweaters or nice tops. I have arthritis in most of my joints including my knees & feet and have had 4 knee surgeries. The last one was a total knee replacement. I also have no arches left in my feet. I'm trying to keep working because I'm in my 40's & don't want to be out disabled at my age. However, I'm up and down a lot during the day and my feet hurt all the time. Can you please recommend some brands of shoes you've had success with? Most of my clothes would match black/brown/navy or I'd ask nurses who are on their feet all day but I think they mostly wear white shoes with their uniforms. Thanks so much and Happy Holidays.

A. There's a brand called Aerosoles (http://www.aerosoles.com/) that is known for making really comfortable, yet stylish, shoes.

Also, flats are really trendy at the moment so I'm sure you'll have luck finding a nice pair of those for comfortable everyday wear.

When my contacts say that they "do the white stuff" does that mean they all huff Reddi-Wip?
Q. Because, I don't approve.

A. No...

The "White Stuff" is a new trendy group Disco Dance that involves everybody dancing in synchronicity, and wearing white nurse's shoes...

Where can I find fashionable plus size shoes?

Q. Does anyone know where I can buy either in a store or online trendy plus size shoes like for a size 12 womans foot? Every website I find has real ugly and outdated shoes. HELPP!
anddd... I'm not a monster, I'm just really tall at 6'1 so its hard for me to find tall lengths and bigger shoes =(

A. I believe Payless goes up to a 13. Nordstrom is always a good bet - they started out as a hard to find shoe specialist, way back when, and have kept that aspect of their business up even after re-focusing to fashion.

There are quite a few more listed in our shoe directory, that notes sizes (and widths) at:

Try barefoottess.com, they go up to 15 with lots of styles. They hardly have anything under size 11!

Why don't women wear those clear, galoshes for high heels shoes anymore?
Q.

A. Galoshes for High Heels

They still wear them, here are some site's that will give you more info.
They have updated them so you can wear them with stilettos.

No one likes wet shoes and feet, but having to wear galoshes
are a fashion no-no. So whats a stilettoed girl to do?
Get herself a pair of new City Slippers from the trendy
Norwegian galoshes company Swims!

These shoe wrappers easily slip over a pair of stiletto shoes with a hole for the pointy heel to poke through. The slippers will protect the wearers shoes from puddles, sludge and mud on rainy days so that they still look great upon arrival.

How do trendy and young French women typically dress?

Q. Just curious and wondering if it's any better than the majority of the people dress in the U.S.

A. I read a book that said the French love to dress their best, not necessarily expensive. It said that they aren't the tee shirt and gym shoes type like we typically are. They maintain a clean look even when "hanging out" somewhere casual, think the preppy end of H & M line or Burberry. And the main thing is they are confident in whatever they wear, making sure to wear what makes them feel extra good about themselves, and that's what shows.
As far as naming specific brands I can't say, but it seems they like good quality clothes that last.

Tip for trendy shoes... ?
Q. I wears converses all time and I wants a different style of shoe.. I'm sixteen and is there any good stylish walking shoes for me? I'm from Canada. Don't give out some American stores that aren't in Canada.
Thanks!

A. Brand NameUGG Boots
OriginalAustralia
MaterialsSheepskin
UGG advantage: versatility, super warm, comfortable, cute
UGG disadvantage: heavy, wearing them will make you seems stubborn
For what people: women, men, old, young all people
What to wear with: jeans, legging, trench and so on.

I want to look like a girl...i am a boy.?

Q. I'm not going to make up some story like I'm being forced because I lost a bet or anything, I'm not gay, I am 20, want to dress up like a girl sometimes, I think it'd be fun. I'd like help picking out clothes and any other tips you have. I don't want to do much even semi-permanent (so shaving my legs is probably out). I'm willing to put a bit of money into this, anyway. I want to do all my shopping online from stores that guys might purchase stuff from. I'm 5.5 foot, size 8 shoes if that helps. I'd like to try out several outfits: something super sexy, something elegant, some trendy looks, and some look that will make me look like an attractive girl and not a boy in a dress. Like I said I'm willing to go all out, so clothes, shoes, all the under garments, etc. Please provide links to all the parts for the outfit if possible, otherwise the essentials. Any tips for looking more feminine are appreciated too. Thanks

A. Try looking for skater skirts or skater dresses, they are beyond cute! & since you don't want to shave, you can always wear tights/leggings under :) you can easily find online stores for them when you search it on google! The outfit would look pretty w/ flat boots & maybe a jean jacket, cardigan, or just a regular jacket. I'll add a few pictures to get you an idea. I hope i helped you out :)!

10. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-merona-etha-cork-low-wedge-sandal-white/-/A-14385062#prodSlot=medium_3_39

there are plenty but, the basic guideline would be to go for shoe colours that are in the dress such as white or tan/beige/nude or pale yellow or pale green. in this case, avoid black as it would look a tad bit awkward with this dress.

Testimonials from Young Plus Size Women on Clothes Shopping?

Q. I would like to hear of some testimonials/opinions on clothes shopping from young, plus size women. How hard is it to find clothes that fit that are actually sold in stores at the mall? Or to find plus size clothes in the mall that are actually stylish or that don't look like it came from your grandmother's closet? Is it frusterating to order plus size clothes from an online store or catalog, only to find out that they don't fit right? I would love to hear any and all stories you have about these and anything else clothes shopping related you would like to share. I will be using this information as background research for a college-level speech I am giving on the need of more plus size stores and selections in todays malls, because not everyone can order clothes from an online store and be satisfies with the fit (something they would have been able to avoid if they were shopping in a real store in the mall). Thanks so much in advance for any and all stories you are able to share.

A. I don't know if I qualify as "young" (early 30's), but I also have difficulty finding clothes that fit - I don't even bother going to the stores anymore. As much as I'd love to get items from Express or some of the other more trendy stores, that is not an option. Even Ann Taylor, Dress Barn, Talbots, etc., do not carry much in my size range (28). Lane Bryant has become Lame Bryant. Even buying items online can be difficult for "supersized" women. Since when was a 16 considered "plus"??? Invariably, the pants I order are too short and few plus sized stores carry talls - or at least, they don't carry many.

This same problem applies to shoes. I wear a 10 - 10 1/2 wide. Wal*Mart, Payless, etc... good luck! If you want nice, decent shoes, you'll pay a fortune - IF you can find it in your size! Even Zappas doesn't have a great selection for those of us with big feet.

I've begun ordering clothes a size larger and then altering them when they come in.

Yes, we should be thinner for our health, etc.. What do we wear in the meantime, though?

What's the BIGGEST mistake plus sized girls make in fashion?
Q. Be specific and offer suggestions as well

A. I would agree with most of the above comments that plus sized women do make poor decisions when it comes to clothing sizes being too small. But in the same sense if a plus sized woman wears a "moo moo" which simply drapes over her body, then she will seem figureless and in turn look much larger than she is.
I have been heavier set for a good portion of my life, and it's hard to find trendy clothes without looking horrible in them (they just don't make plus sized clothes fashonable). But there is no reason to try to stuff yourself into a pair of pants that is to small just to look "in style"

Lany Bryant (plus sized fashion) has turned their store around in the past few years and now i love shopping in there, as they keep up with fashion as closely as they can. They came out with several new items this past month i just went crazy over.

Boot cut jeans (NOT FLARES) will help elongate and thin the leg. Even straight legged pants will help, and a darker denim if in jeans. It depends clothing wise on age i think but this is for 20-40 years old. Button up shirts that are perfectly fit that do not buckles at the chest will emphasize a large chest without clinging to any tummy a person might have. Also jackets with bullets are very in style. They should be waste length and have 3 buttons (for women with larger chests). Shoe wise, a pointed toe shoe with a long pant will help give the leg a much longer feel. Tank tops probably aren't the best bet for a plus sized woman as many are self conscious about their chests and arms and tanks provide very little coverage up top. And for skirts, anything that hits at the knee (NOT AT THE CALF) will also give a more proportional look.

But, knowing that it is hard to find clothes that wit well and are fashionable, if a plus sized woman wants both (good fit and style) then their best option is to shop at a store like Lane Bryant or any store that is customized for plus sized woman and then have something tailored to fit them perfectly. Nothing is better looking than a perfect fit, and this relates to plus sized woman as well as non plus sized women.

Need necktie color/style suggestions for a fashionable young man?

Q. The fashionable young man is me by the way. :)

I'm 21, and my brother is getting confirmed catholic this weekend and I'm his mentor.

What I plan to wear: so far:

Black two-button Calvin Klein tailored slim suit
White Calvin Klein dress shirt with cufflinks
black shoes, black belt, blah blah

anyways, I like to look good, and I like to be fashionable and look trendy. I want a new tie to give my appearance that young fashionably fresh zing, does anyone have suggestions?

I was thinking a brighter color because its spring time, and maybe one of those thinner ties I keep seeing in magazines? They seem to be in style right now... Or anyone have suggestions for a different dress shirt? other than white, something that will work with my new black suit, i really like it and I havnt had a chance to wear this one yet.

Q. What are some things that you must have for fall in your wardrobe? Since YahooAnswers is global, I want everyone to please answer! I'm going shopping really soon, so I want to update my wardrobe. What do you think are the "bare necessities" to any teenager's wardrobe? Please answer! Thank you so much in advance!

A. Hmm for my personal must-haves for fall...
Tailored dresses
More high-waisted pencil skirts
A vintage scarf
Polo shirts
Good non-leather high heels (I wear no leather)

As for what I think the bare necessities are...
Shoes: Flip-flops are good to have around for almost everything! Keep a few pairs of dress shoes, including one good pair of heels. Do NOT wear Crocs, they are hideous. Uggs, they're okay if you are in a cold environment. Please only wear trainers (athletic shoes) if you are actually working out.
Skirts: Do not go too short. Yes, you are young. But I know from experience the worst thing is having to pull them down constantly, as I am a bit curvier (not plus-sized). Your best bet would be to go for not a micro-mini, but something that falls to mid-thigh or knee length.
Shirts: Tank tops are a must, as they can be worn on their own for a good part of the year and then underneath sweaters or other tops for the cooler portions of the year. If you get t-shirts for clubs or something at school and they're men's sizes, GET A SMALL. It is more flattering to the frame. Polo shirts are nice, because they look nicer automatically, and a nice one can be worn to interview for a job. Also get some blouses, most stores that have sections for Junior's will have dressier shirts. Get several, because you never know when you'll have a formal presentation for school or some event. Some of them are just fun to wear for no reason at all!
Outerwear: Invest in a good coat. You can't go wrong with a peacoat, a blazer-style coat, or a fitted trench. I have the coat I got before my 7th grade year and I still wear it in the winter because it never goes out of style. It is okay to get trendy items for the rest of your wardrobe, but please invest in a nice jacket. The right one can last for many years! If you don't feel like a nice coat though, get a good hoodie. VS Pink has some really good ones, as well as Hollister.
Pants/Such: Make sure to have a couple pairs of dress slacks, at least one in black. They can go with the blouses, they don't run terribly much as far as cost goes, and they can dress a simple tank top up nicely. If they are tight in an area but work fine elsewhere in another size, go up a size and ask your parents if you can get them tailored. It will in turn create a more flattering fit (I have to get all my slacks tailored as I have very short legs). Also for jeans, please do invest in a good-quality pair. I love Lucky Brand, they do run very expensive, but their range of leg lengths is what I love. Something less expensive would be GAP. Shorts are nice too, but if you try them on and they just barely cover your butt, then do not get them. Make sure a little bit of the leg is covered in the back but you don't need to go the really long lengths just yet.

Those are just my $.02, mine is based on having a few pieces that are an investment (so they may cost more, but break down the cost-per-wearing ratio-say you buy a pair of jeans for $100, and you wear them twice a week for 2 years-it'll be a little less than 50 cents per wearing) as well as pieces that won't reveal everything. Do have fun with your wardrobe, do not wear anything that is inappropriate for your body type, and take the time to discover what your personal style is.
